They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report: Their email: [email protected] Their name: elaine Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion Rebuttal: I believe if you read the letter it stated she deposited cash in the morning hours. I worked for a bank and if you deposit cash it is applied right away. Checks can be available right away if not then it is the banks clerk who should tell the customer there is a hold on the deposit. Wachovia should have sent a second letter telling the customer she owed more money. They stated that she owed one amount then turns right around and says she owns more. I believe you should pursue this further. If the held cash and didnt tell you, you are entitled to receive bounce check fees back that they charged you. Contact an Attorney

Rebuttal:
I personally have never worked at Wachovia, but I have worked at other banks, My suggestion is to read the reciept they give you when you make a deposit. I'm willing to bet that it tells you that items deposited might not be available for immediate withdrawal. Just about every BANK (notice I say BANK, not Credit Union, there are different policies at Credit Unions)
has the same policy that makes cash available immediatley and checks (depending on the amount) available the next business day. And as far as depositing in the ATM, don't ever expect anything to be credited immediately, nothing gets done until the deposits are cleared from the ATM and sent to the banks proofing office.
