I have spent untold amount of money at the waffle house over the past few years. I am such a common face in many of the local waffle house's around, that I have even called out my own orders before. After reading the postings I decided to speak my mind. I have always noticed a few extra little charges here and there, but I did not mind. Sort of my way of saying thanks waffle house.

two weeks ago I went to the waffle house in Treasure Island Florida. The whole problem started when i received my food and half of it was cold. The grits were so cold that the butter would not even melt and they had congeeled over.

Once I finally got my server's attention and informed him of the problem he proceded to ignore me. I have gotten used to getting crappy service from waffle house so i gave up.

A few minutes later the server comes and grabs my plate from under my hand as i was trying to eat the eggs before they got cold to. Whan I informed him that I did not appreaciate his way of dealing with things his attitude went from cocky to worse. I asked him what he was doing and he said he was going to put the plate in the microave. I told him all I wanted was fresh grits that where hot. He told me no way.

So trying to avoid a bad sceene I said I don't want the plate, I will just eat my waffle and hash browns. Please take it off my bill. So he proceeded to throw the food away. I was under the assumption that it was over. When I got my bill the whole plate was still on the bill and the server refused to take it off. So I did not get to eat the eggs toast and grits but was still charged for them.

since then I have not been back to any waffle house and i truely long for a waffle with a double order of hash browns and two egg's. So who really loses here. I invite waffle house to reply....

As a cook/server for Waffle House for 9 years, I must say I have never even SEEN a microwave at WH. We do not use them and re-cook orders as necessary. If a server or manager ever tells you they will microwave it ask them the following question.... "It is now 2003, since 1954 WH has not used microwaves, are you going to tell employees about this new procedure?" If they have a problem with you asking this tell them it takes a WH customer to know when a WH employee is being a WH *#@ hole.

I'm just curious.... I've been a manager at various Waffle House locations for over the last 10 years.... and when did Waffle House decide to go from serving hot food fast to a microwave???!! LOL guess I missed something somewhere as far as we Waffle House employees know, we re-cook if needed and DO NOT REHEAT! Have a great day, and if you are ever near Kansas City, stop in one of our franchises, because we DON NOT serve our food cold!!!
