Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I began last quarter on 9/3 and withdrew on 10/23. The quarter ended on 11/24. There were 83 days in the quarter and I was officially enrolled for 51 of those days, which equals 61%!!! According to the calculation for title iv funding, if a student is enrolled for 60% of the quarter, the student earned 100% of his or her financial aid. I officially withdrew on 10/23. The school is trying to say that my withdrawl date is 10/19, the Thursday prior to my official withdrawl.

Due to this being a few days prior to my official withdrawl date with the school's registrar, the unofficial date of 10/19 reflects approximately 57%, this creating a $2200 bill that Walden is now trying to say I owe directly to them. They are trying to use my participation date because they know they legally have to send the financial aid back to the department of education or send me a post withdrawl disbursement and Walden is a for profit school. Of course they don't want to lose money, so they have chosen not to honor the official withdrawl date like every other institution on the planet and stick me with a bill, which I have already told one of their directors I am not going to pay.

Walden's website states the following:

Walden's website clearly states, "to determine the amount of federal financial aid a student has earned as of the student’s withdrawal date". It states WITHDRAWL DATE, NOT last participation date. This information is located in the first paragraph at the following link:

Further down in the 3rd paragraph, the following info is stated, "Students who stop engaging in academically related activities during the term, without officially withdrawing from the courses, are subject to the R2T4 calculation. In such cases, the last date of academically related activity".

I offically withdrew, therefore my official withdrawl date of 10/23 not participation date of 10/19 needs to be used! Walden's website clearly states this!

I want Walden to correct their records and fix this immediately!!!
