Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
After being taken to the ER at walton regional medical center,  my grandmothers purse turned up missing.  The staff eventually found it and returned it to us but in the mean time, had taken down the numbers of all her cards, and off her check book.  Within 2 days of her ER visit, all of her bank accounts were emptied and all of her credit cards were maxed out to the tune of $20,000.
When my grandfather and the police went to the Hospital to discuss this issue they were met with attitude and zero cooperation from the Hospital.  Even with video tape of a hospital employee going to bank after bank from monroe GA, to Charrlet NC, the hospital refused to cooperate.  Charges are now pending but the Hospital declined to fire this employee stating that it was our fault that she had her purse,  and that hiring felons with theft charges was not their problem.

What a joke of a hospital.  In return for my grandmothers visit to that hospital, she was then over billed and charged for a week stay,  and was there no more than 72 hours.

I am an employee of the Monroe Police Department. Our first notification of this allegation was from the hospital themselves when this rip-off report was first posted. This was also the first time they were notified of any such allegation against the hospital. Just like the hospital, we have no such record of any such allegations or investigation. If the writer of these allegations would like to come forward and talk to an officer, the police department would be glad to do a report. Seeing as no one has come forward to the police with such allegations, but claims in this report that they did, it would appear that this allegation against the hospital is false and never occurred. The department has also sent information to rip-off report editor asking that this item be removed as the police department and hospital have no such knowledge of anything like this taking place. These allegations attack the integrity of both the hospital and police department staff, who I believe would both address this issue immediately if it were real and brought to our attention.

As far as this allegation is concerned:
- No report was ever made to hospital staff
- No report was ever made to an officer or to the police department
- An officer was never dispatched to such an incident at the hospital, as no call was ever made by the person making these allegations.
- No case is open against the hospital and there are no pending arrests involving such a matter as it never occurred according to our police records.

This is no hoax.  There is now an investigation, and there will be an arrest.  But I think its nice that an employee of this hospital wants to speak up.

My name is John Merriwether, and I am the Vice President of Financial Relations for Health Management Associates, Inc.   We own the Walton Regional Medical Center located in Monroe, GA.

First, the safety and well being of our patients is our number one priority, and we take any allegations, such as those mentioned in the complaint, very seriously.

Based upon a review of the information contained in the complaint by RETRODOLL,  hospital administration and the City of Monroe police department have determined that this complaint appears to be FALSE AND A HOAX.

Immediately upon notification that a complaint had been issued against Walton Regional on this website, I contacted administration at the hospital to verify the allegations in the complaint by RETRODOLL.

Upon investigation by the hospital, given the information in the complaint, there is no record of this event having taken place.

As part of the investigation, the City of Monroe Police Department was contacted to obtain a copy of the investigation report into the theft as claimed in the complaint.  The Monroe Police Department has no record of any complaint or investigation pertaining to the theft of a purse or credit cards from the hospital.

Here is a copy of an email sent by the City of Monroe Police Department to the Editor of RipOffReport.com indicating that they have no record of a complaint of this nature nor a record of any investigation, and a request to have the complaint removed from the website as it appears to be a false claim:

This e-mail is in response to Report 529124 on Walton Regional Medical Center in Monroe, GA. We received the link from one of the hospital administration staff. She stated that the hospital was not aware of such an occurrence and wanted to know if our department had any knowledge of such an occurrence. We have no record of such an occurrence happening involving our officers. We are the local department that serves the area the hospital is in and any complaints/reports would have been referred to our department. We have no record of any such complaints, reports or occurrences at this time. We are further looking into the matter to be sure, but in the meantime would like to see the ripoff report removed as it appears to be a false story/claim. If this truly happened to someone and that much money or such a theft was involved our department and the hospital staff as well would surely be aware of such an incident. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have.

Thank you,

If "Retrodoll" would please contact the Walton Regional Medical Center administration at 770-267-8461 with additional information such as a City of Monroe Police report, dates of the incident, copies of any alleged video tapes, we will certainly review the complaint further, but until that happens, there is no verifiable evidence that this event ever occurred as stated in the complaint.
