In August 2011 I had decided to sell my Breitling Navitimer watch and contacted Watchbrokers.com.

I sent the watch to them via Federal Express, they recieved and appraised my watch at $4,750 then advised they could sell it within 10 days if I priced it lower than the appraised value. I agreed and set the low price of $2,995.

After 20 days I contacted them and was advised that they had offers, but were holding out for a higher price.

By 01 September 2011 I was beginning to become suspicious, that perhaps I had been tricked and that this company was operating a scam. Further requests for information regarding my watch went unanswered.

On 21 September I went to their website to check on my watch and it had been removed from the section of "watches for sale". Great I thought, it has been sold.

My attempts to log on to my account on their customer website section proved impossible - I received messages saying "no such email, account ID" etc was found!

Further telephone calls and emails to the company have gone unanswered - I have been scammed!

That is when a web search found this website with many reports of the fraud(s) made to other customers - if ONLY I had read this information first.. if only.

I feel that as an individual hiring an attorney to go after this company and retrieve my watch will most likely cost me more in legal fees that the watch is worth and i believe that Watchbrokers.com are baking on this.

I would willingly and grateful participate in a class action suit against these people including appearing as a witness at my own expense.

and the fulton county assessor, the owner, richard latona, lives at

405 Brentwood Dr NE
Atlanta, GA 30305-3204

and his phone # is
(404) 841-2459

Maybe you could call him and find out why he ripped you off?  Probably not, s**theads like that just get another disposable cell phone and number when they're done stealing for the week.

I'll bet you could send something to his house, maybe a lawsuit...your state consumer protection act probably lets you collect attorney's fees/court costs in the judgement, you should look it up.  You can attach a lien on whatever he owns with a judgement, and if you're lucky enough to live in my state, after 5 years of the lien going unpaid, you can simply foreclose on whatever the lien is attached to, so attach it to the house.  I bet it would feel wonderful, sitting on the corner in a lawn chair while you watched the guy who ripped you off get evicted by the sheriff.

That's what I would do.

The BBB gives them and "F" rating and posts the following alert:

BBB questioned this firm's advertising appearing on their two websites. On http://www.webuywatches.com/ the following advertised claims were found:
1.This philosophy has led us to becoming the largest watch broker in the world. We broker more watches annually than all of our competitors
2.gives us the industry insight to be the leading online brokers of watches.
3.WeBuyWatches.com brokers more luxury watches than all of our competitors combined
4.We broker more Agassiz watches than any of our competitors
5.WeBuyWatches.com finds buyers willing to pay up to 5 times more than what you would get through pawn shops, craigslist, ebay, or other online brokerage services!
On http://www.watchbrokers.com/ the following advertised claims were found:
1.Our buyers and sellers alike trust us above all others to get them the best deal.
2.The World's Largest Watch Broker
BBB asked for written documentation to support each of these advertised claims. As to date we have no record of receiving a response from the firm.

Please be advised, Richard Latona is also listed as the owner of a company by the name of WatchBrokers.com. This company is listed at the same address with the same telephone number. We have a separate report for WatchBrokers.com in our database.

Good luck to you in recovering your watch or money.
