Waterbed Factory spent my refund to finance their busieness. Lied to me about sending my check. Ripped me off for more than $2,500.00 Houston Texas
I am writing to complain about the poor customer service and terrible treatment I have received from The Waterbed Factory. The man's name I was dealing with is Phil, and now I have learned he is the owner.
After doing some research about this company and after researching Furniture Traditions reputation on the Internet,
I decided to extend more than 2,500.00 of trust to that company and I gave them a 50% down payment on more than
5000.00 of furniture.
Then about 4 days later, I wrote via email to this dealer asking for my money back. He failed to respond to me
so I had to call him, when he informed me that I had to wait 30 days to get my money back. Even though I did not like
that and even though we had proof that the local third party check had totally cleared our bank and it had been
credited to his account and even though he was already making interest on my money, I patiently waited for the 30
days to elapse. The last day of the month was on a Friday and I called him the following Monday and he had promised me that the check had been mailed.
Well the check never arrived so I called him today (Sept 9th, 2014) and that's when I found out that he had totally lied to me. He never did mail the check last week like he said he did and when I confronted him about that on the phone he just
hung up on me. I had even offered to pay for the fees to stop payment on the check he said he mailed today and to pay for the federal express fees to have his certified check overnighted to me but he refused to cooperate.
Later in the day I called Phil again after and I asked him nicely to follow my request and stop payment on my check and send me the check via Federal Express but he not only refused, he ended up hanging up on me again.
However, Phil told me that the reason he did not send me my check last week is because he had used my money to pay his other bills and he did not have funds to pay me last week as he had promised he would do. Did you get that? He used MY MONEY TO FINANCE HIS BUSINESS FOR MORE THAN A MONTH AND I HAVE SUFFERED FROM HIS ILLIGITAMATE BUSINESS PRACTICES.
There is no excuse for running a business where you spend your customers refund money to finance your business for more than a month. Any concerned businessman that has the money to do so, would happily fulfill my request just to make the customer happy and to put this issue to rest as fast as possible, but a concerned, thoughtful and caring businessman is not the way to describe Phil at The Waterbed Factory in Houston Texas.
