Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have been having trouble with Webb Ford in Highland Indiana. We went there on September 22 and identified ourselves as x-plan shoppers because my husband works for a Ford Supplier. Every Ford Car has a set xplan price from Ford with no negotiation and the invoice is supposed to be shown at the time of sale.

We picked out an explorer and we liked it. Not having our xplan pin number with us we said we would come back the next day and purchase the vehicle. Webb Ford guaranteed us that they had a friends and family coupon they could use and which would give us better than the xplan price.

We were a little nervous and asked were they sure the price would be better than xplan, They promised us it would be. There was no sticker on our vehicle and we were never given the sticker price. We asked to see the sticker and we were told the manager had left for the evening, his office was locked but we could get it the next day. We weren't even sure of all of the options without the sticker but they went through and told us some of them. I said since it was late I would just wait until the next day to do the whole deal.

Several of the sale people assured us everything was fine and if there was any problem we could cancel the entire deal the next day. We gave a check and then came back the next day to see all the paperwork After receiving numerous reason on why it wasn't there they promised us to have it in two days.

To make a long story short after numerous calls, visits and complaints we did not receive the sticker until November 2nd. That is when we found out that not only did we not receive the better than xplan price we did not even receive the xplan price. We also found out the reason there was no paper work was because the car had been previously sold and returned and the dealership sold it to us a brand new.

We called the dealership and talked to the GM John Flanagan, the customer Service Paul Hudetz and a manager named Kevin. We were told we would be contacted the next day. Two days later I called John again and he told me he was in a meeting and he would call me in 20 minutes. I called Paul the customer service man and was told that I shouldn't have believed my salesman and it was too late now but he would make sure John the GM would call me on Saturday the 6th.

Every time I call John now he will not take my call and they say he is busy. I have emailed them twice and they won't call me back. After some investigating I found out my salesman quit and now works for Sutton Ford. I called him and he told me he quit at Webb because of their business practices and was not surprised they cheated us. He was given the price he gave us by their desk manager as the salesman are not allowed to give out the prices.

The price we were paid was 30,989.90 plus sales tax of 2401.71 total 33,391.61 less rebates. THe price we were guaranteed to have received was less than the xplan price of 27735.55 plus tax of 2149.51 total 29885.06. The difference is 3506.56. They also told us we must finance the car in order to get the rebates and we could pay it off in three months so we did.

Now that they will not take our calls we are stuck paying $3500 too much, our car is financed and it was used. I have talked to many people about the trouble we have had and we hear over and over again that everyone has heard that Webb Ford was dishonest and they would never go there. This is a huge amount of money for us and we felt we were being lied to but could not prove it until seven weeks after the deal when we received the sticker.

We don't know where else to turn, can you help us. This was an out and out deception and they know they did it and are now dodging and avoiding us. How childish that they won't take any calls until they make sure it isn't us. How long can they dodge us. I hate to see other people continue to get ripped off as we have and it sounds like so have many others.

Xplan is controlled by Ford

All you really need to do is contact Ford itself and get in touch with the Department who handles the Xplan advertising. A dealership is not permitted to attempt to talk a customer out of a manufacturer sponsored buying plan of this nature. Just contact Ford (I'm sure Stick or Thorn will have the number when they get around to reading this) and let them know you were talked out of the Xplan and into a normal conventional deal by management. That department will contact the dealership and arrange for you to get the deal you should have received in the first place. If when you contact Ford you're told because you purchased a Used Car you cannot qualify for Xplan, simply tell them you were assured it was a New car and were further duped when you discovered it was used. If for some reason you are unable to get anywhere with Ford, just check your Purchase Order (the document the dealer prints up stating your name and info, the vehicle, the price, tax, plates, etc). On the top on one side or another there should be a series of boxes saying "New, Used, Demo" and one should be checked off. If you signed this document and it's checked as "New" and was a previously titled car, just contact the Attorney General's office for your state. The car will have to be repurchased by the Dealer.
