My son had an accident last March and my car which I had just paid off was totaled. I needed a new auto quick as I drive 45 miles to work. I didn't pay attention at the dealership (my fault) and suddenly had an auto loan from Wells Fargo at 10.5%. I figured I would refinance later, as I just needed to get into a car quickly. The totaled car was covered with a comprehensive policy, and I submitted proof of an ongoing coverage for the new car to the dealership.

I've made every payment since on time. But in April I received notice from Wells Fargo that they were going to impose insurance on me because I didn't have an active policy. I had my agent fax their company proof of my comprehensive policy.

Next billing cycle, Wells Fargo has included app. $180 on top of the car payment for monthly insurance payment through Balboa. I call the company and am told they have no record of insurance for me. I have my agent fax the policy and mail a hard copy as well. Next billing cycle, I am again charged for insurance. we send the policy again. July, same thing.

So I don't make my july payment figuring this might get someone's attention. It did. I started getting calls (usually at 7:30 AM) from Wells Fargo telling my my payment is late. I speak with a Carmen, a Shanika, a Cameron, and today, a David. I make the CAR PAYMENT only, minus the insurance amount over the phone, and tell them that's it. This is their problem not mine.

Today, I got a call telling me I am short on my payment and this is going to be reported if I don't make good on the insurance. After doing some on-line research, I note that this is typical to Wells Fargo. Hmmmmmm, anyone up for a class action suit? Let's make this company accountable. I really don't believe in lawsuits but how else do we make big money listen?
