First it was the insurance rip off. They were charging me $200 extra each month for insurance when I already had insurance. This started back in November 2006. I spent hours on the phone with them. I was transferred from Wells customer service back to Balboa ( the company who was charging me insurance) each time I called. My insurance company done their part by faxing the insurance information to them. Which they acknowledged but they couldnt figure out why the fee was still being added to my account balance. They claimed to have given me a credit.

The next issues with them started in December 2006. I started making my payments online. I know I had the option of calling to make the payment, but I wasnt going to pay them extra to make a payment over the phone. I started getting calls about my car payment being past due. I told them I made the payment and provided them with a confirmation number. They threatened to repo my car and ordered me to pay $1400.00. I made the payment over the phone. This was January. Now in February they call me with the same story. They didnt receive my payment. I again provided confirmation number and the date it was taken out of my bank account. They claimed they didnt get it. So I had to give them my bank account number to trace the payment. They found it. But never credited me back late fees

Now, the calls started again. They said they didnt received March....so we started all over again. Then they said they didnt receive April. I told them over and over they payments were made online and I provided confirmation numbers to them and faxed the documents to their reseach department. Never received a call back. Approx 2 weeks ago I received what I am assuming my last call from them. I explained to the rep that they payments were made and I am not paying May until the find out where my payments are going. I provided her with confirmation numbers. She assured they will trace the payments and not the account. She never noted the account and guess what? They repossessed my car on June 8th. Then they had the nerve to call me and asked me if I wanted my car back.

After speaking to the repossession department they said I needed to speak to someone in customer service. They rep discovered that my payments have been made to the wrong account. She told me she had to transfer the money to the correct account and I can get my car back.

Went back to repo and explained what happened. They then said I would have to fax over proof of insurance, 3 references, and 2 pay stubs. Plus pay a repossession fee of $375 plus $12 daily storage fee. I asked her can I received a credit for that because it was not my fault. She told me no because I didnt pay May. I again told her I didnt pay May because March and April because of my payments not being received.

I want to sue the pant off their tails. It's not fair!

You are not alone. My fiance just had her car Repo'd on June 15'th for the same thing. (the insurance crap). They was charging her more then her payments where supposed to be for this insurance crap when she had full coverage already. She called to speak to them after her car got repo'd as to getting the problem fixed and her car back as they told her 10 days it was getting auctioned off. They won't even SPEAK to her untill she gets 4 references, 2 pay stubs and proof of insurance.. They won't allow her to get proo fo finsurance or pay stubs out of the repo'd car though. and her job said it'd be 4-6 weeks before she can get copy's of new ones.
