In reading through all of the complaints against Wells Fargo, I find myself somewhat amazed at the responses of those who are defending what they have done. What makes it ok for a company to lie to you?

The people who are hired there are hired on their ability to lie. No one with integrity could rationalize that lying to customers is ok, and it doesn't appear that any of those people work for Wells Fargo.

I have to address one comment I saw in a couple of responses from one of the "defenders" in that Wells Fargo doesn't have to help people. In one respect, they do, because how else would they continue to be in business. On the other hand, if they don't "have" to do this, then how do they justify stringing people along with empty promises? It does to the integrity - or lack of it - in the company. If they don't mean what they say, then they should say what they mean.

If they had been honest with me from the beginning, and told me there was no way to work out my mortgage, it would have been over and done with for me a long time ago.

To the guy who said "read the rules" I want to offer to him to read them and he will find usually somewhere buried in there something to the effect "this is subject to change without notice." In other words, they are flat out tellig you they can make up the rules as they are going along. It also gives them an out and allows them to be consistent in their inconsistency.

If they have nothing to hide and are being honest about the way they do business, then why do they hire so many people to lie and make up things? It has to be a business practice to do this because how long could you stay on any other job by doing what they do?

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, June 25, 2003

I suggest you call Wells Fargo Home Mortgage home office. See what they have to say about the way their customers are being treated. I was told by someone other than the Home Office that it would do no good to talk to a supervisor, since they were all trained the same way! Trained to deceive, make false promises to help you, put you off, so that they can ruin your credit, and make a profit for them! The consumer looses with this company! I wish you luck and will pray for you also.
