ok i drove for werner and when i first started with them dispatchers (expeshly net ops) did try to get me to haul haz-mat with no indorsment a simpale qcomm message back informing them yhat it was haz-mat and i couldnt and wouldnt haul it no mater how far(one time it was only 2 miles) and thay soon stoped asking me. and yes werner trucks are governed to 65mph but thay tell you that the first day your there.like most big companys the bosses dont know what the little people are doing thay only care about the bottom line and some underhanded things do go on. now as to the training the females that complaned about there trainers and the trainers hat were dumb enought to take a woman out for training is reason i did do the training bit like i was asked to do on a number of times.not that a woman shouldnt drive but there are those oput there that are not perpared for the life yes there are time that you dont have the tme to take a shower every day seeing when you get to the t/s that the shower list is 5 hrs long and your expected to role in the morning and im going to et my 8 hrs in the bunck. and once i fould the secret in the werner system that being you had to keep a eye on what account you were on i did make good money with werner.now there paperless log sysytem is easy to use if you take thge time to get to know it and if you yes the micros you will never have a late load (thats up to your dispatcher) thay can always repower the load or change the appmt if thay know whats goig on. as is always the case its what you make of it and useing the system you your atvantge and binafite i did have my teathing prblems with the sysyem but a few well placed calls and a good attitude and i got it all figured out.and yes now that my legal problem is over im trying to get rehired with them and hope to work it out soon

My first female student I picked up in Atlanta, Georgia, on our way to California, the ritual begins with a reading of Werner Policies, rules and regulations, and equipment operations. After getting as far as Memphis, we stopped for the night. After returning to the truck, the student was no where to be found and a lengthy search of the truck stop turned up nothing. The next morning, I prepared to list the student Leave of Absence, when she trotted up to the truck and got in. When I asked her where she was, she said it was none of my business. After reviewing the company policy regarding her training conduct, sleeping arrangements, and responsibility to the equipment, she became annoyed and in no certain words said she would not sleep in a truck with a male trainer. Instead of asking to be let off at a terminal, she fabricated a complaint, to avoid having to be in the truck till the next terminal, several states away. Subsequently, she was dropped off at the truck stop to await another female trainer. All too often, students come on board and expect the company to conform to their idea of how it will be, instead of realizing the business is the idea and has been for years. Trainers are abused by the system largely due to new drivers that are stubborn or just inflexible. Trucking is not for everyone and certainly not something to be taken lightly. It is a way of life that takes people with a spine and nack for being on the go. Don't come into this career path with the idea you'll try it on, cause in the end, you'll get in the way, and likely ruin someone's career because you don't belong out here.

I was a trainer for Werner for a few months, and had three female trainees before I refused to train women altogether. I am also female. Regarding your first trainer, you are making assumptions about his personal character and work ethic based upon conditions and circumstances beyond his control and your lack of knowledge about the industry. For a training truck to sit means there is no freight, and company drivers (includes trainers) have no authority to go get their own loads During that particular period (Fall 2006), freight was slow for a lot of companies, my current employer included. Regarding your second trainer, if he is still training female trainees, then your claim probably had no merit. I am not saying it did or did not happen the way you claim. I am saying that every trainer, male or female, that trains women is at least once a year accused falsely of sexual harassment by a female trainee in every company that trains inexperienced drivers. All such claims are investigated with the assumption that the claim is true, and while being investigated, the trainer is not allowed to train anyone, regardless of gender. Without witnesses, evidence, or more frequent claims being made by other women, Werner cannot do anything about your claim without facing legal consequences. As for the third trainer, yeah, gross and disgusting. Some people have no self-respect nor care what others think of them, more so it seems in the trucking industry. I have trained twice, at Werner and my current employer. At Werner I had three trainees. The first accused me of sexual harassment two days after I put her off the truck for refusing to listen, driving only two hours a day, refusing to eat, and revealing a previously unknown and disqualifying drug addiction and associated medical problems. The second passed my training, and as far as I know is accident free, the only thanks I require or want. The third almost got us both killed when she had a mental break behind the wheel. At my current employer, I got as far as two before deciding the only trainees I would ever accept would be gay men. The first, having zero truck driving experience, drove dangerous and erratic and refused to follow direction. She also frequently made bigoted comments that were offensive and in clear violation of company policy. She accused me of sexual harassment. The next one made a similar accusation before even getting on the truck, after seeing a rainbow sticker on my laptop computer. I never even shook hands with her or talked about anything beyond the rules of the truck and how to do a vehicle inspection. You may have a real claim against the second two trainers, but the hundreds of women who came before you making false claims make it impossible to prove.

My 1st question is why didnt you choose a female trainer that werner does supply so as to cut down on sexual harrassment. secondly if you snitch on ever single driver the company itself is going to let you go. no one likes a snitch that just likes to get to the top by snitching. maybe you should consider another type of career like maybe being a secretary or something with alot less stress for you. further more in my opinion if and i say if your second trainer was trying to make out with you apparently you must have done something in order for him to think you were either single or was willing. meaning quit freaking flirting if you cant handle it.
