Back in the beginning of Sept. 2012 I went into west end auto( because we actually get our cars fixed at american fleet and auto behind west end,) to see about trading in my mustang and honda.  Kevin had a Honda Accord on the lot that I test drove and seemed alright. We did a trade. He did tell me that there was a 90 day 50/50 warranty. Within a couple weeks, the motor goes out so right away I had to chip in another $600. Hard to swallow since I just moved out and had little money.  Since then (it is now Jan. 1st) the transmission has been checked by Todd (american fleet in back) and the gears 1 and 2 are going, so would need a new transmission.  ALSO what I thought was a thermostat cause there was no heat turned to be a heating core which I was told would be another $700 there abouts.  I cannot afford to put all this money into a 2001 Honda.  I ahd talked to Kevin in Nov. and the only offer he had was to offer me a car on his lot plus another $1000 or so (on a saturn).  Since that call in Nov. I tried to reach Kevin again on Dec. 7th and he never returned my call.  I feel as though he should buy this car back.  It has been one headache after another and I can't afford to keep putting into it.  I have no heat and am looking for another car presently, but will not buy from kevins lot again.  I feel he is now avoiding me .  I will never give him a good word.

And just how long have you been a mechanic?

I feel as though he should buy this car back.

He offered you a car on his lot plus $1000..it is not his problem that you didn't like it.

Look..the fact is that the job of a Salesman is to sell you a car.  Would it be nice if every car dealer is 100% honest and upfront..of course, but that is not going to happen.  You are actually lucky that you had some sort of warranty.  As most dealers sell the car As-Is, which means you would have been responsible for all of these repairs yourself.

This is why you will find that if you do your research the thing that will be on the top(or near the top) of the list of things to do when you buy a car is to have the car checked out by an independent mechanic.  Unfortunately, you did not do that taking your own opinion of it seeming alright.
