I saw an ad on craigslist looking for wedding videographers, I responded to the ad and corrisponed with this person about my experience shooting weddings. I gave them my number and they called me up. The woman's name was Melissa, I spoke to Melissa about my work shooting weddings, I'm fairly new to it.
Melissa related a story about her expreince being ripped off when she was 16 years old, having to walk 14 blocks in the rain showing up 20 minutes late and work a long day shooting a wedding soaking wet only to not be paid in the end because the main photographer said she made him look bad.
Melisaa talked a good game, really got me to trust her and agree to shoot the wedding for her company Western World Film Productions LLC. I was told I would get $220 for the day and then after that I could potentially make $500-600 as a second shooter and $800-$1200 as a main shooter.
I took two buses to get to the Oceanside Lutherin Church in Long Island New York. I Shot the wedding and the reception. At the end one of Melissa's main shooters Ray asked me for a copy of my footage as a back up, I told him that I would meet with Melissa to to exchange the footage and get paid, he said not to worry that she would still meet with me. This was Sunday September 18th, 2016. It is now Thursday September 22nd 2016, I have been calling Melissa since Sunday night after the wedding, she has not returned a phone call, email, text message or communication of any kind.
Beware of this woman and her company, she is hiring videographers on craigslist and then ripping them off!!!

So Melissa and I have now spoken and the issue has been resolved. She has paid me for the work that I did and has access to the footage. It took a great deal of courage to speak to her and tell her about this after she had paid me and now we both feel very uspet about the whole situation.
We'd both feel a lot better if this could just be removed, but because of this sites policies it's stuck here. I promised her I would fix this some how so I'm going to exhuast every option I can. I've made a terrible mistake here and I want to go on the record and officially apologize to Melissa.

So it is now September 29th, and I have heard from Melissa, she says she lost her phone and that's why she could not reach me. I called, I emailed, I'm not sure why she could not get back to me by email on a computer.
Her reason for reaching out is that the footage that I shot has no audio and she has to give it to her client and can't do so without audio. So I still have the footage, I looked it over on my computer with her on the phone and it has audio.
So now we'll be meeting on Monday to exchange the footage for the pay I was suppose to recieve. I have not told her that I filed this report, I'm not sure from our communcation if she did or did not see it, I'm not sure if I have or have not missjudged her.
If I have then I owe her an apology and will apologize and tell her about this report once I've met her in person and have been paid for my work, but it all seems very weird that she would be unreachable for 11 days and not get back to me as quickly as she could knowing that I would be expecting to hear from her and get paid for this work, I wonder if she didn't have an audio problem would I have even heard from her at all...
I sincerely hope that I have made a mistake and that Melissa is a truly honest, good and genuine person, I know that my report can't be removed but I hope that my rebuttal will make a difference, next time I will be twice as careful before I file a report. I hope after Monday to come here and post another rebuttal saying that everything has been worked out in a proper and positive fashion.
