After she arrived home with her new car her son was looking at the vehicle and noticed that it did not have the standard Michelin 16 tires that the window sticker said it was equip with. In fact on closer inspection they were used BF Goodrich tires on 17 wheels that were not standard equipment for a 2004 Ford Explorer (The spare is 16 Michelin tire).

After that they begin to look through the vehicle Martha son noticed that it had over 600 miles on it (Martha didn't realize that this was a lot of miles for a brand new vehicle to have on it) and found papers showing where the vehicle was being used as a loner car signed out to a party.

The next day I called Westway Ford to try to return the car and get her down payment back (I did not want her to pay for a USED vehicle that was supposed to be NEW) and they told me that she had signed the contract and there was nothing she could do about it and in plaid that her ignorance was not an excuse. I ask Jeff Webb the manager of Westway Ford why the vehicle had so many miles and did not have the tires on it that it should and his answer was that they did not have to tell me or her anything about what the car had been through or used for before she bought it.

I was able to get Westway Ford to put the right tires on the vehicle after going back and asking them several times (I took pictures of the tires before letting them change them out) to do something about the vehicle being used and that it didn't have the right tires.

Westway Ford sold a vehicle that was being used as a service vehicle as a BRAND NEW 2004 Ford Explorer to Martha. I feel like they misinformed her on the sale of the vehicle saying that it was a new vehicle when it is obvious that they were using the vehicle as a loner.

I really feel like Westway Ford lied to her about the vehicle and should take it back and let Martha find one at an honest dealer ship where she will indeed be buying a new vehicle.

Thank You.

I used to live in Irving TX, and at the time was looking for a new car. I went to the exact Westway Ford dealership you are talking about and did not like the experience one bit. They offered to look at my current vehicle to give me a trade-in estimate. I gave them my keys, and off they went with my car (stupid mistake on my part). Then, the salesman hassled me about the price of the car....I knew what I wanted to pay and what options i wanted and he kept "playing games" with me....quoting me my price, MINUS the options I wanted. Since I did not have my car keys, I was essentially "trapped" there. I know someone who had a very similar experience there and threatened to call the cops if they didn't give him his keys back. Bottom line, Westway Ford is full of slimeballs. They are the very epitome of everything people make fun of when they talk about "Used Car Salesmen."
