One of the collection companies for Westwood College is General Revenue Corporation. Some of its employees have been calling and harrassing my son relentlessly. Although he has asked them for proof of the debt, they refuse to give him aything in writing. After speaking with some of GRC's employees, I, too, requested proof of my son's debt, yet GRC refuses to provide such proof. They refuse to investigate our claims, although we are well documented. WARNING TO ALL WHO ARE BEING HARRASSED BY WESTWOOD COLLEGE'S DEBT COLLECTORS - Don't speak with them or give them an explanation, other than to tell them to send you a written demand for payment and/or proof of the debt. Tell them that until such time as they (or Westwood College) provides proof of the debt, you won't speak to them or respond to their demands. You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Education. I would urge you to contact your state consumer services office or attorney general and ask them to investigate Westwood College's practices.
