I went to pay my car payment in October to Wheel Deal (Roger/Rodney Goldstein).  My husband who I am no longer with used to go and pay the car payment and he always refused to give a receipt. My husband and him had become on friendly terms so my husband thought it was not an issue that he wouldnt give him a receipt.  In October I realized I had no copies contracts (I think my estranged husband took them) and when I went to make my car payment I asked for copies and a receipt for payment.  He used the same excuses he always had and stated he didnt have time to write a receipt nor give me copies of my paperwork and yelled at me and called me derogatory names no woman should be called.

I then told him that I wasnt going to pay him if he couldnt write me a receipt and then he said he was going to reposess the car.  I complained to the Better Business Bureau about the incident.  When Wheel Deal received the complaint they repossessed my car because I stated in writing I would not pay  (reason no receipt) and they said I had an insurance lapse (not true, I have proof with Allstate, Geico and The Department of Motor Vehicle). When the man repossessed the car I was not home and there was not any issue giving up the car.  The person who took the car called from his cell phone.  The next day I contacted him because my son said he was from the DMV.  When I asked him who he was he wouldn't tell me but when I did say my son said you were from DMV he insisted that he did not say that.  I asked if he turned in plates and he said yes and he mailed the receipt but also stated that my license was being suspended for no insurance. Well I immediately contacted Geico, my current insurance company, and they said they were looking at the same thing that DMV looked at and said I had never had a lapse.

I contacted DMV the next morning and told them the same story and they said "we would never tell anyone that besides you, and no you are fine and have always had insurance and no your license isn't being suspended."  They then said that the person who took my car would not be mailing the receipt, they would and yes the plates were turned in.  Rodney Goldstein then in turn filed a claim with Allstate who I had car insurance with up until August.  In December my estranged husband hit a post sticking out of a drive-thru at Dunkin Donuts.  A small scrape was put on the driver side.  I did begin a claim with Allstate but felt that it really wasn't that major to get fixed.  On October 15 I received an e-mail from Allstate that Rodney Goldstein had filed a claim stating the accident happened in April and gave them a totally different story.  I called Allstate and told them to look back at their records to make them aware of the fraudulent claim he filed.

"Wheel STEAL" Rip-Off Kings Somehow Still in Business

Wheel Deal, Happy Wheels Inc

720 Columbia Turnpike

East Greenbush, NY 12061-2216

Phone: (518) 477-1124

Closed in April 2009 Under the name Wheel Deal, Inc. Opened again later that year with a modified name.

My Experience, briefly:

As the rest of the reviews I have read highlight, NO PAPERWORK, Change Prices AFTER paperwork is signed, LIES About Money Paid for Deposits and Payments, NO RECEIPTS, CASH payments only, CAN'T speak to the "owner" only the Grim reaper that is Rodney/Roger Goldstein, NEVER actually repair the vehicles when they are brought in for repairs under their "90 day bumper to bumper parts & labor warranty".... A YouTube Video from today (25Feb2011)

Via Friend's First Hand Account: "I actually bought my nissan Altima from this place. I never recieved a title to my car I had to wait two years after I bought my car to get a title. I had to go through the better business borrow and file papers for lemon law. I never had payments on my car I paid for my car in cash and still claimed I owed them payments and thats why I never got a title. But had a receipt paying paid in full. I should have known better I grew up in EG, people forwarnd me not to buy from them, but sometimes youre young and dumb. The place has had like five different names it used to be called frontline motors. They were closed down as well."

A LIST of Complaints I have Found on Consumer Reporting Sites

Below is a link to the form that you send to the Vehicle Safety division of the DMV that regulates auto dealers, etc. Wheel Deal was shut down by these people in April of 2009 but reopened a short time later under a slightly modified name and on the same lot, even with Todd Goldstein still listed as the Owner. The laws are clearly made to protect scum like this, and not the people.
