Whirlpool Fridge/Freezer model number WRID4TS.

We purchased a Whirlpool brand fridge/freezer based on the companies perceived good quality and service. Unfortunately we have been very disappointed.

Purchased from appliance retailer on 19/8/2008, noticed around the 24/12/2008 that the fridge compartment had ceased to be a fridge, was not cooling efficiently.

At first we thought the hot days and the thermostat setting were the issues. Not the case, the problem was diagnosed by service contractor on the 30/12/2008 as a defrost unit issue. The service contractor does not have the parts to repair the problem and has been described as taking a few days to have it in Newcastle.

I have sent numerous emails to my allocated case manager without any satisfaction, same deal with the customer assistance people.

We have wasted a great deal of food and continue to waste food as we have no fridge to store left over's.

My request for a replacement fridge has been denied, my request for compensation for the loss of food has also been denied, and my request for a refund has been denied.

Whirlpools brand name has taken a big dive, we will never purchase another Whirlpool branded product again.

I have searched other consumer revolution type web sites and have found similar complaints to mine.

Be aware that Whirlpool is not producing the same quality product I have been used to and their customer support and case managers cannot help fix the issues.
