Buyer Beware! Whirpool, one of the worst appliances we have ever bought. Bought the Cabrio (Model #WTW8200YW0, Serial #C3087244) top load washer in May 2013, specifically to do bigger loads. We stressed this to our salesman numerous times and he recommended the Cabrio washer. We had a front loader before, liked it but it only lasted us 6 years. When we first got it, the installers didn't level it correctly.  My husband had to level it himself. The store said if they came back out, we would get charged. We used the washer a few times and clothes were not getting cleaned. Thought maybe it was our detergent, so we changed to a more expensive brand (Tide). Still, the clothes were not coming clean and we were seeing a detergent film on some of our darker clothes. We don't use powedered soap, only liquid. Called the salesman about a month or two later and complained. We said it wasn't peforming up to our expectations. Especially when we washed a comforter or bigger blanket. They do not come clean at all. The salesman then told us that we shouldn't be washing comforters or blankets. We were like, what, we specifically asked you about that washer and bigger loads. He then suggested we complain to Whirlpool.

Called Whirlpool after speaking with the salesman and they sent out a technician to look at the washer. Of course, they didn't find anything wrong with it. He told us that if we aren't using fabric softner, turn that button off, try warm water and turn on extra rinse. We asked him about blankets and comforters and he said we should be able to clean them. The drum is huge! So, we did all that and still the clothes weren't getting clean. Plus, the washer comes out of balance all the time when we do wash a bigger load.

Six months later, the control panel goes out. Again, we call and a technician comes out and replaces the panel. We told him we weren't happy but he didn't really say anything.

Now, 2016, control panel is going out again. Actually, it started going out around November 2015. To date, it has gotten worse to where a couple of the buttons don't work or we need to push very hard, one being the START button. My husband wrote to Whirlpool back in January and no response. I wrote them again in March, no reponse. They have the WORST customer service I've had to deal with. They can't even respond to a customer. I told them if they didn't respond I would tell everyone I knew never to buy a Whirlpool. We spent $1,000 bucks on this hunk of junk. Never again!
