I purchased a Golden Retriever named Taffy 8 years ago from Tommy & Mimi. I paid $2,100.00 for this beautiful and sweet dog. Within 3 days of purchase I took her to the Vet as required in our contract. The Vet told me she had recently had a cesarian and had a lot of scar tissue. This was not disclosed at the time of sale. The Vet and I discussed spaying her and he said he did not advice it becuase of all of the scar tissue. Taffy was used as a Pet Therapy dog bringing love to many seniors who could not have a dog.
She was able to get a AKC Good Citizenship Certificate but Mimi will not release her papers - demands the dog be spayed, even with a letter from a Vet not advising this. AKC contacted me for a DNA test on Taffy, there was a mix up with one of her puppies and they needed to confirm if Taffy was the mother or not. I sent her DNA to them as requested. All I have asked Mimi for is her papers and Mimi still refuses and accused me of breeding her - it would of killed Taffy to have an more puppies. Taffy has been diagosed with Cancer of the eye - she has required 2 surgeries so far and the Cancer has spread to her back right leg. I hope that anybody who has puppy from Taffy such as Tuffer or Tessa or one of their off springs watch out for the possibility of their dog getting Cancer! And, to you Mimi it is the health of the dog that counts not the money!
