William And Brian Dollard Unfinished neighborhood of 14 houses. Street still has yet to be dedicated to Town Gov't so services can be rendered. Ripoff Port Jefferson Station New York
These two brothers are the primary partners in a new home building business here on Long Island. This particular development of 14 homes has yet to be completed to the satisfaction of the homeowners and the Town government. At this writing their bond is being withheld until completion of the project. This has been going on for over 3 years. The builders have ignored the requests of the homeowners to complete the project and only do what is necessary and only when forced by the Town officials to do so.
Beware in Florida and Pennsylvania as word has it the Dollards are bringing their BAD business practices to those states. It has gotten so bad here that the District Attorney's office for Suffolk County, NY and the NY State Attorney Generals office are now involved. This dilema stems from corruption within the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County where building ispectors approved aspects of the dwellings and common areas of the neighborhood that were not up to code and standards. The Dollards have used subcontractors that are substandard to build their houses. During the building of this project they didn't even have the decency to provide a portable toilet for the worksite with workers defacating in the basements of houses in spackle buckets and even on the basement floors.
When you pay $450,000 plus for a new home you expect that the workmanship and subsequent follow up on issues would be acceptable. Neither was. The residents of this development have banded together and are pursuing legal recourse at the civil and criminal levels.
So far, the local cable newschannel 12 has covered the story, as have NBC (Ch. 4 ) and Channel 11, the WB. Several Long Island Business publications are looking to do a story as not only does it involve the shady dealings of these two brothers but the incopentence and corruption at the Town government.
