Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I had to pay $1100 plus to get it back I only owed to payments of 227.00 how does that add to 1100.00 could not do anything about it they had my car. My payments came back in mail they were money orders. The envelope was addressed to their p.o. box and it was returned. Another time same thing they threatened to repossess and i had sent one payment over internet with debit card I thought it would be fast next payment within few days sent by money order and they sent out the repo guy but my car wasnt there and I should him my reciepts of payment he said i had to pay the whole balance if he got my car. They call me at least 20 times a day when payment isnt even due yet. I have to continue to keep paying them until i have lump sum to pay them otherwise they try to repo my care which is a 2002 camry in very good condition I am sure they want car since they already have been paid what i borrowed plus and still have me owing more than i borrowed. I dont know what to do but this must be illegal i say class action suit need attorney. EVERYONE BEWARE IF ARE THINKING OF BORROWING FROM WILSHIRE CONSUMER CREDIT besides their shady practices they are the rudest people i have ever dealt withWilshire consumer credit is committing usury.  They charge 85% interest.  How do they get away with this I thought that was against the law.  I borrowed 2600.00 have been paying 227.00 per month and still owe 2750.00 They have repoed my car when I got behind even though paymetns had been sent and they returned them as wrong address.  Then they charged me over 1100.00 to get my car back and I only owed 2 payments that they sent back.

They tried to repo my car again after i had sent payments and i showed repo guy reciepts and my car wasn't there so he couldn't get it.  I have been experiencing hard times so I have been late but never over a month and a half late.  They call at least 20 times a day.

Need to file class action suit .

I have a $3,000 loan from them, always made on time payments and one morning I woke up and my car was gone. After contacting the police department I found out it was repo'd. After talking to Angel who I guess is my account manager, he said that I hadn't made a payment this month! Knowing this wasn't true cause I'm the one who wrote the checks myself AFTER trying to pay online, which is how i was told i could pay and actually prefer to pay. I checked the last three months of payment stubs where I had the check number and date mailed written on it. Angel insisted I never paid anything, so I checked my bank account and saw that the check was never deposited. I insisted that I had mailed it but at this point I knew I was screwed. I paid the payment right then, which had to be in cash through western union only. I also had to pay a $400 repo fee and some other minor fees that totaled like $120 or so. It then took them 5 days to send the release to the tow yard. Well, about a week or so later guess what I get in my mailbox? Three envelopes that have "return to sender not at this address" written on them, and whats inside? MY PAYMENTS! I checked the address on their payment coupon with the address I had written on the envelope and they matched, so I hadn't sent it to the wrong place. I figured they either knew I sent the payment and just wanted the extra repo fees or they lost it and instead of owning up to it when it was found, just sent it back to me. I called them to let them know that they had returned the payment back to me and that I had paid it, and that I expected to be reimbursed for the fees. They basically laughed at me and called me a liar. The next day I received another bill from them stating that I owe $680 in "other unpaid fees". When I called and asked about it they said it was their fee because I got my car repo'd. I told them that I already paid over $500 just in repossesion fees and they told me that that was the fee JUST TO GET MY CAR OUT, and that this fee was for the inconvenience of them having to repo the car from me. I tried explaining what had happened, but it was useless. Since then I have kept up with my payments, but I refuse to pay the extra $680 fees they added, and are trying to repo my car AGAIN for that. With all of that, I have already paid over $4000 to them and they say my payoff amount is just over $5000!

I am in California and I URGE anyone else in California to file a small claims suit against them, report them to your local DA, and the attorney general. I haven't had my court date yet, but after much research I have found A LOT of their business practices are illegal! Not to mention their collection practices being that they have contacted almost all of my family members several times after each one has asked them not to, and have come to my house ringing the doorbell and kicking the door several times late at night, once they came at 4:30am.

They lie about being able to pay online, they lie about fees, they lie about not receiving payments, their collection practices are illegal, and their interest rates are usury. I would like to suggest that everyone, and their are plenty of us, who have been ripped off by this company colaborate together. They can only get away with this as long as we let them.

Dont pay any attention to the other consumer response, it's obviously an employee. No one else is going to go on here and comment that to you and EVERY OTHER complaint about Wilshire. To respond to them anyways I will say there are THOUSANDS of people in California alone with the same or similar complaints about this company, not to mention one class action already filed. We need to stop them.

Thanks for response I was surprised.  You have horrible customer service and the people that you have call and harass everyday are rude. disrespectful they borderline criminal with their threats.  My car should have never been taken and me charged 1300 to get it back.  At that time I had paid 8 months with the two months they said they never got and 1 was returned to me return to sender wrong address ( when it was an address off the b ill) I still owe 2700.  Been paying since last June I am not behind as of this month Payment not due until July 10, 2013.  So I have paid over 227.00 per month for 13 months plus the 1300.00 to get my car back.  SOMETHING IS REALLY WRONG SOMEONE MUST HAVE CONGRESS ON HOOK OR SOMEONE.  I AM SURE THERE WILL BE CLASS ACTION SUIT SOON I AM WORKING ON IT.  WITH THE CLASS ACTION I WILL GET ALL MY MONEY BACK PLUS I AM SURE.  PREDATORY LENDING.  NO I DIDNT LOOK REAL GOOD AT THE MANY PAGES THE LADY BROUGHT BIGGER THAN LEGAL SIZE VERY SMALL PRINT BECAUSE I BELIEVED THE GUY I TALKED TO AND HE SAID 8% INTEREST I THOUGHT NOT BAD WHAT BANK CHARGES.  NOW I AM SO SCREWED BECAUSE HE LIED AND I AM PAYING 85 PERCENT INTEREST LOAN NEVER GOES DOWN ONLY UP ONLY SUPPOSE TO PAY FOR TWO YEARS IT IS NOW 13 MONTHS AND I OWE MORE THAN I BORROWED.  WHAT IS THAT

Why didn't you borrow the $2600 from a bank? Is it because there are no banks in California or is it because your credit history is so badly tarnished that only a subprime lender would lend you the money?

The only way you could win a class action suit is if you can prove there is a large group of victims that suffered a loss or injury due to negligence, deception or fraud. Your vehicle was repossessed due to loan default, which certainly does not qualify.

Your credit was in the toilet before this vehicle repossession so you can expect to pay an exorbitant interest rate on your next car loan.

You're likely to see the repo man again. How is the bus service in Lompoc?
