My daughter Caitlyn was invited to join a local pageant called Win A Crown. We went into the interview and I paid Caitlyns entrance fee into the program. 275.00. The preliminary pageant was to be held on February 24,2008 on February 22, 2008 my daughter Caitlyn was involved in a horrific car accident on her way to school. She hit a ice patch and slammed into a tree head on at 45 mph. We are very fortunate that she is still with us, no one at the accident scene could believe that Caitlyn lived through the wreck. I left a message for the pageant coordinator as to the fact that Caitlyn would not be there for the preliminaries. We got no return phone call. I sent her an email asking her how did I get back my money. She informed me that I wont be getting my money back. How can someone take your money and due to horrible circumstances decide you wont get your money back. Even airlines give you a refund if you have a horrific set of circumstances. . I am by no means a rich person and that money should be given back to us. She said that she incured expenses , but how did she incur expenses if Caitlyn was never there. If she had merely changed her mind then I would have said ok but she wasnt capable of competeing in the condition in whch she was in. She brags on her website about how God has molded her and leads her , are these the actions of a godly person, no they are not . They are the actions of a greedy person that is getting free money from a persons misfortune. She says she molds young women into being upstanding citizens, Im wondering how she does this if shes not willing to teach by example. Read the press release on her web site about how she walks with God , again I ask are these the actions of a Godly person.

Did you have a signed contract?

Most companies have a contract that you have to sign. If you signed a contract with a non-refundable clause you are out of luck. Time and money is invested when a client/young women chooses to apply to compete in such an event. While it is very sad that an accident occurred, unfortunately if you signed a contract that contract would indeed hold up in a court of law.
