I know your upset but there are several premium accounts you could purchase ranging from no ads to e-commerce. It is standard that e-commerce is more money and sometimes requires percentages of the total transactions processed by the shopping cart. I believe you were confused by the many packages and fine print, but when buying a site you need to read up and do research. Wix is a great looking flash based web design option, and if you did spend $2,000 you are still ahead of the game because most e-commerce sites range from $2500-upwards of $10k. The reason you can't switch your web site is because it is a web based design system, and it can't recognize html coding, your domain would be transferrable but not the site it's self. I would reccommend paying the difference because otherwise you'll be looking at many more thousand dollars to get the site up, plus potentially months of down time.
