I never knowingly signed up for this service and am still in doubt how they got my credit card number. When I first noticed the charge on my monthly statement, I contacted the company. They gave me some vague explanations. I thought it was coupons I would get through the Internet, to use in connection with the compnaies I do buisness with over the Net.

The second month I wanted to know some more about RESERVATIONREWARDS, but every time I called the line was busy, as I had never seen so much as one cupon. After numerous days I finally got through but only to an automated answer machine. In order to cancel my subscribtion the phone system asked for my credit card number and then my email address for verified for me by the phone system. At no time was is possible to talk to a human being.

The company was contacted on the 22nd. of September, but I was told that my next payment was already listed on my upcoming statement. I was given a cancellation number but didn't write it down, as the "operator" informed me I would receive the

number in an e-mail.

It was only when I looked up Rip-off that I realized what a mistake I had made by giving them my credit card number and confirmed my e-mail address. I am concerned I'll be billed $9.00 every month from here on to eternity.

WLI*RESERVATIONREWARDS RIP-OFF VIA HABAND

#2Consumer Comment

Tue, October 19, 2004

Just wanted to add my comments. I too was ripped off by this company. However, through researching this rip-off I found that this company actually received all of my personal information from Haband (a clothing company) where I had ordered some shirts. My wife and I contacted Haband to see if they would tell us why our information was given out and under whose authority (because it certainly wasn't done under our authority). Haband proceeded to explain that this was done because a check-mark was indicated on their computer printout. Now, first understand and I am a Software Test Engineer by trade and I know that there is no such thing as a perfect software program. Software programs are riddled with what we call in the trade as "BUGS" that cause the programs to sometimes do what they are not supposed to do, or, not do what they are supposed to do. Bugs are very erratic and do not always occur at the same time or at the same place within the program. I explained this to them and proceeded to explain that Haband's "Privacy Policy" states, 1. "Haband does not rent our Customer e-mail addresses nor do we share them with any third party." (period!!) But WLI-RESERVATIONREWARDS in fact had this information. 2. Additionally, it states, "We ask for your phone number when you place an order at our web site. We will only call you if we need information to fill your order. We will not make a sales call to you." 3. Also, it states, "We do not transfer or disclose our customer credit card information to any third party..." 4. Finally, the Privacy Policy contradicts itself by stating, "If you do not want Haband to rent or contribute your name and street address to any third party, please send an e-mail to [email protected] with DO NOT RENT in the subject line. Please specify the name and street address you wish to be excluded from the rental list." Well, if Haband stands by the first two statements, why would they need to have this statement and require you to send them an e-mail stating "DO NOT RENT"!!!??? This violates even the basic honesty principal of not sharing private, personal, and confidential information which the company is privy to! I intend on persuing this matter as far as I can go with it. Actually, I would like to find an attorney who would be willing to file a class action lawsuit against companies like Haband and WLI*RESERVATIONREWARDS for illegally obtaining and using confidential information for gain. Any lawyers out there willing to take a chance? I'm sure that there are millions of people that have been ripped-off that would join the lawsuit!! Contact me by leaving a post at this website.
