I have been a patient at Woodhaven Medical Center for over 25 years and i have never experienced anything of what "hector has said"
The staff are hardworking dedicated workers who try there best to accomodate patients.I usually see Dr Marciano at both the 86 st and 79 st location . I have seen Dr Muraca as well as their physician assistants.
Through out the years i have been saved three times two times in catching cancer before it started growing because test were run to check my breathing yes lung cancer picked up by a breathing test and also a growth on my back picked up by Dr. Marciano.
I understand if hector is frustrated but he has to look at what medicine has done to family practice. He calls Dr marciano by pcp.a dr who is picked randomly by a computer program based on zip codes. The system has created a logjam for seeing family doctors and drs handpick patients based on their comorbidities and severity of illnesses .Physician assistants and nurse practitioners will be seeing most of patients in the near future under the supervision of a doctor and a doctor will be seeing only the real sick and complicated cases. Physician assistants at the office are always communicating with the drs and handle patients with the utmost respect .I have never experienced what "hector has said"
Hector has an opportunity to be positive about the pa s that "he saw"
But spins it that the pas cant see patients. I have also seen the other drs in the practice during the past year Dr jacobs and Dr lawrence and now Dr bejarano they are all great family doctors so stop saying rip off because its you who is disgruntled and do not understand the complexities of having a rare family practice office in the queens area. They are always there 25 years with me and god willing another 25 years. And your provider may be a pa or a nurse practioner in the future but you cannever lose the respect and wisdom that my family doctors give to me.God bless Woodhaven Medical Center because its not easy trying to take care of an under priveledged urban area.
