I recently was searching for a position and came across a job opening with Work Opportunities Unlimited. The job was part-time two days a week. I was very interested in the work schedule, as well as the actual position. I applied and had two phone interviews and was then asked to interview with the hiring manager. Before interviewing with the hiring manager, I was told that the two days I wanted (6 hours each day) was a flexible schedule in which I would work those two days and must be able to assist with additional hours if needed, not to exceed 15 hour a week. I was still interested.
Just prior to the interview with the hiring manager, I was told the two days were actual two other days (initially Tues/Thurs; then told it was Monday/Tuesday). I didn't really want Mondays but decided I could be flexible and still interview for the job.
Finally, I met with the hiring manager and she tells me that she two jobs open. Proceeded to tell me that one of the job was Monday through Friday (5 days) 9-3. The other job was also Monday through Friday (again 5 days). I asked her about the position I had applied for and she said she interviewed someone the day before and gave the job to that person.
So - basically, the initial two interviewers were well aware that I wanted part-time - 2 days per week and I was sent in to interview for a 5 day a week job. What a waste of my time and the hiring managers time. All-in-all, it was not a total waste because I decided during the interview that this would not work for me, especially since they could not get their act together for this one job.
I told them to call me if they had a two day a week job and I'll think about it. Needless to say, the next day, I call the HR recruiting office for this company and they did not call me back! LOL, makes me wonder.
