On Sep 5 2003 I was contacted by phone by World Benefits about receiving a credit card with a $2000 credit limit for a one time service fee of $299.99. I agreed to the credit card and the charges due to personal credit I thought it would be the only way to get one.
15-20 days later two days before the money was supposed to be taken out I contacted them asking where the credit card was. That is when I was told that they didn't send out the card until they received payment and I moved back the payment date back.
The payment was made on Oct 7th and on the 28th I received a Credit Repair kit from World Benefits. On the 29th I contacted them and after being hung up on twice I finally talked to someone and was told that I would be receiving a paper within a couple of days to send back to a bank to and I would receive the card then.
Now on the 11th of Nov I called World Benefits and they put me on hold for a little while and played back the verification message, which they played for me a couple of times before, and it just sounded like it was tampered with. There were pauses in the recording and it sounded like my voice was just put in at
certain spots. I then contacted the number that was on my bank statment and that put me through to a company that claimed they were just a money collection company for World Benefits. I also looked online for the company and found several complaints about the company.
