I recently, only a few days ago, purchased a 1985 Chevrolet diesel pickup truck from Worldwide Vintage Autos in Denver, Colorado. Their website showed a video of the pickup truck running. I have never before purchased a vehicle sight-unseen and knew I was taking a chance based on some negative reviews. But, salesman Ryan Corrick assured me the truck was in basically good condition. When the truck arrived, both of the inexpensive Walmart batteries were not only very old, they were both completely dead and the truck had to be jump started by the transporter. A quick visual inspection of the engine compartment revealed that the truck had been completely rewired by the previous owner.

After getting the truck home, I tested the batteries to find they were completely discharged although both had water in them. I hooked up the first battery to an 8 amp slow charger and it took about four hours to charge. After that, I hooked up the second battery and it never fully charged after about five hours; in fact, the battery got so hot it could not be touched. After an hour or so, both batteries were once again completely discharged and the truck would not even turn over.

The next day, I jumped started the truck and took it to a mechanic who specializes in electrical issues and he informs me that the vehicle has been incorrectly wired, there is a short in the system which could potentially melt wires and cause a fire. He says he can repair it, but it could take days to trace the short and replace the wiring and any other damaged parts because the vehicle has been completely rewired.

The vehicle was downstairs under my house when it was on the charger and had it caught fire, it could have burned the house down, placing my family's lives in danger. Worldwide Vintage Autos and Ryan Corrick NEVER disclosed this electrical issue even though I had communicated with them numerous times and specifically asked about the electrical system. They obviously knew of this dangerous defect and never disclosed it. Because of this, I can not recommend buying a vehicle from them; they are not only dishonest, they have put the lives of my family in danger. They are beyond reprehensible and should be shut down.
