webuyanycar.com strange way of trading phila Pennsylvania
this company seems odd to me, so heres my story. i have a third car i dont drive anymore and its time to sell i am blasted with ads on tv and the internet with the webuyanycar ads and decide to try it. do the online check for price. its half the going price for the car. but its not great to let a car sit and there are ongoing costs using it or not so i make a appt. i must say the manager called within 5 minutes of clicking off the web site. nice guy and was there first thing in the morning open and ready.
heres where things got nutty for me, they wanted my car title. i showed it,the car reg and ins. they wanted me to surrender the signed title to them before they looked at the car. now they have seen all the documents and i had them photocopys of eveything that they can look at all they want but anthony claimed that i must surrender the orig. title. becuse i may have altered the papers.
they had everything they needed but refused to look at the car,make a offer or continue without giving them my signed car title first. . i am in my 50s and have both bought and sold cars from dealers and privately and the exchange of the title is the ownership at the point of sale at the close of the deal. all this took place in a closed midas muffler dealership that had thier paper banner posted,with 2 desks and copier in a 2000 sq ft showroom
so there it is. insulting to be told i may have altered papers on a car i bought new off the showroom floor, not trusting the legal documents while expecting me to trust him with them. i came away with the feeling that they could not be trusted. just a side note, i tried posting comments to some of the online sites like youtube and they were blocked. i must say advertising works,it got my attn. but good trading practices would have closed the deal
