I was also contacted by this company, regarding a ten year old debt. They first called me on the phone and would not identify themselves. They kept on asking for my social. After I told them I wouldn't give them that type of information over the phone, they hung up. A few days later I received a letter in the mail asking for a full payment of $11,000 or they would notify the credit report agencies. Well, I know they can't place old debt back on credit report after it has been removed; but I was worried that if I don't respond that I might reactivate the old debt. I respond with a very lengthy letter requesting the validation of this debt, and sent it certified. They did not waste any time with sending a response. The letter stated that the old debt was transfered back to the originator, and not to contact or pay Wyse. Okay, now that the original creditor has debt back, what is going to happen now? Will it be transfered to another collection agency or will the originator try to handle it themselves.
