XRT Distributors Inc new twist on old scam Arlington Texas
2 Guys in SUV pull up next to me in parking lot, say they work for home theatre installation company, boss bought 1 more system than needed for installation contract. They have several sets of speakers in car, show me catalog with 3000.00 price for system . I said I'm looking at maybe 3-400.00 surround system. He said this one was wireless and would take that little for it, because cant use it on job and cant return it. Gave me cash reciept for the 300.00 I gave him. When I got it home/ realized it wouldn't hook up to my LCD HD TV . It appears to be a regular 5 speaker system that needs a seperate tuner and amplifier to work, even though the box says it has a built in tuner in the sub woofer. I went online and all the scam alerts came up for the company name,XRT Dist. and OLIN/ROSS speakers. These are not wireless speakers as represented, and similar sets sell at retail store for half this much.
Cant believe I fell for the old scam with a new twist, was taken off guard as havent seen this around here for 20 years. I will still have to buy a speaker system for my TV as these wont work, and my wife isn't going to let me hear the end of this.
