Days before shop emptied, was told "it's on the ship > 2 weeks to delivery" Sherman Oaks, California
THEY STOLE MY MONEY > they never intended to place the order
I paid a discounted price of $3,900 cash in full for a love seat 25 Jan. 2008 with delivery promised 14-18 weeks.
30 June told another 8-10 weeks minimum. 31 July > said 2 weeks, repeatedly said..."sofa was on the water".
4 Aug. company was out of business > all merchandise gone from showroom.
Contacted with the leasing agent who refused to cooperate in locating the owners.
Contacted manufacturer's rep who told me he just learned of the closing. His investigation discovered my order was never placed with the manufacturer in Italy.
Their invoices had the Italian manufactures name and address in Italy in addition to their own local Sherman Oaks address, but not the DBA as filed with the state of California. The manufacture's rep gave me the two he knew them as.
Contacted the police after an attorney told me this was FRAUD as their invoices carried another's name not their own and they never placed the order. Police refused to do any followup, claiming they "had their hands full" and it was a civil matter.
