Get any paperwork on "the perfect" ring when you bought it? You should have gotten an appraisal that includes all the information, to include the carat weight, color and clarity of the diamond(s). What type of ring did you buy, diamond wise and what did you pay for it? When we size a ring at my shop, it normally takes a day or two at most. When I take in a ring at my shop, I put down a brief description of the ring and stones and test the stones in front of the customer when I take it in AND when I return the ring to the customer. Read the post here about the women who claimed she got a CZ back and didn't find out for SIX months until she took it to another jeweler. If I test the stone(s) in front of the customer, when I return their item, I can't have that problem months later. It was a good idea. IF you had gotten a full appraisal on the ring when purchased, you have proof the stone wasn't the same. IF there is any doubt and you have an appraisal, don't accept the ring. Make an appointment with the manager AND the district manager at the store to compare the appraisal with the stone in the ring they are trying to return to you. If there's a difference you have proof. If not, you're out of luck.
