Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Purchased three dogs with breeding rights (one contract even stated "breeding quality"). Two were purchased as adults. One of the females did not pass her OFA hips and has hip dysplasia. Xrays were taken 2 weeks after purchasing the dog yet selling claims they are not responsible.

Seller states dog was purchased without a guarantee yet the sales contract stated breeding quality and seller would guarantee  the dog to be on good physical condition and if upon examination anything is found to let her know as she wants 100% satisfaction from her buyers.Yet when I contacted her she blocked me on Facebook, unfriended me and will not respond to any emails.

All together I spent 8'000USD with this seller however she will not stand for the dogs she has bred. Whats even worse she will continue breeding from the parents, siblings and cousins from my affected dog WITHOUT testing for hips.

One dog has also been diagnosed with cataracts, again seller not taking on any responsibility or offering to share the costs associated with the suffering she has caused.

Seller is a PUPPY MILL. She is breeding from underaged females, overusing her males and then disposing of them when done breeding. One female had 22 puppies at exactly 24 months of age WITHOUT any health testing having been done on any of the parents. Her females have litter after litter and puppies then get mixed with other litters so one has to question whether the parents of a puppy are the ones on the registration papers.

Since this has been highlighted to the seller, she has removed ALL of her dogs pedigrees, parents and testing results from her website. She has also stopped advertising who the parents are of the litters. One can only draw their own conclusion to this behaviour.

Three adult dogs have already died at her premises due to gross negligance and failure to provide minimal veterinary care and simple decease prevention.

No lies are being spread, all my comments are facts and certificates from the vet will show the actual results of the dogs. I am sure no-one wants to buy a puppy with the risk of health issues and joint issues at only 2/3 years of age. Please people do your research before buying a puppy or dog from this "breeder". Ask yourself why she breeds, is it to better the breed or just for money as she cant even do the most basic of health testing required for the breed.

I state again, these are facts, my dog suffers with bad hips at only 2 years of age when she was sold to me at huge costs WITH breeding rights and as breeding quality. The dog will not be bred from as I will not breed such poor quality dogs.

I have asked for a small refund of 1500USD since she will not be bred from and I paid breeding price. This cost would go towards her surgery. Yet the breeder refused stating the dog was purchased at my own risk. Is this how a responsible breeder reacts? Our contract stated she would guarantee the dog to be in good physical health, HD is not good physical health.

I purchased a pup along with another person from Zink. My dog had issues, and this may sound petty but was dumb as a rock. It also had a stomach issue and could not get rid of diarrhea. The other person who purchased at the same time, his dog died about a week or so after getting it. I would suggest steering clear of this puppy mill. Something isn't right with the pups.

Pleased with "Zink Ranch" operations and animals

Twice in a two year period we have purchased American Shepherd pups from Ms. Zink at the Zink Ranch.  We were not only pleased with the initial purchase of our first puppy; we chose to return to the Zinks for our second purchase.

Ms. Zink was open, informative and a pleasure with which to do business.  All of the pup's medical records, condition and testing was openly discussed at the time of the purchase of our lovely animals. Ms. Zink made time for consultation with us concerning our animals and the American Shepherd breed in general and detail.  I would consider her a professional in her field and she has helped us out over the last few years with any questions we may have had concerning our animals.

We were provided medical records and documentation on both of the animals we have purchased from the Zink Ranch.  Our animals were, at purchase and continue to be, fine healthy animals.  Ms. Zink has been open and happy to share visits to her facility and access to her animals and their environment.  My wife and I have felt confident in returning to the Zink Ranch for our second animal and have pointed several other folks seeking animals toward the Zink Ranch.  We consider them nothing but the best in their business.

The Zink Ranch facilities were a far cry from what I would consider any sort of "puppy mill".  Ms. Zink keeps a clean and professional facility. We freely visited their operations and toured the whelping pens.  All the animals were clean and healthy with a rather large fenced pasture for them to openly roam. We had actually returned for a second pup from a specific female because of her good temperment and nature.  We believe the Zinks operate an outstanding operation and their animals shine because of the love and attention received there.  We couldn't be happier with our two loving "purchases" from the Zink Ranch.

False accusations

I do not understand how someone who has never stepped foot onto Zink Ranch can claim that it is a puppy mill, that there is negligence, puppy's from different litters are mixed, females are breed to early or that males are being overused! I have visited Zink Ranch several times and have seen first hand the quality of care Jenny gives to each and every animal under her care. She has borded my dog and he was taken very good care of. For someone to make these false allegations against Jenny and Zink Ranch is outrageously hideous!! You should be ashamed of yourself!!!

Response to "breeder"

At no point did the seller ever ask for any documents to be sent. In actual fact she ignored my last few messages where I made her aware of the results. I kept her updated on the progress of the vet appointments and none of those were responded to either. So I was not surprised when my message with the final response was also ignore. And at that point she actually unfriended me on Facebook and blocked me from her Zink Ranch page. This was my first indication that the seller had no desire to get the issue resolved or even hear of the results of the 3rd dog.

Eye testing is done on an annual basis and is standard for all breeder. Please have a look at the breed parent clubs requirements for good breeders. This seller claims to be a member of said club however refuses to do the most basic of health testing. As a responsible breeder she should now be testing at least the parents and full siblings of my affected dog, instead she is busying her head in the sand and ignoring the problem. Just because you do not advertise that you do not do any testing, does not justify the actions. HD is hereditary, and I have a written statement from the vet proving this damage is not due to an accident. The dog moves around and can run CURRENTLY. But these results are an indicator or what she will be like in future. Surely as a responsible breeder you care about the health of your dogs and the puppies you have bred for many years to come. Not just until you have sold them. Buyers should be able to enjoy 10+ years with their furry friends, not just a few years and then having to pay expensive treatment because the breeder couldn’t care to spend a few $$$ to do the most basic of health testing. Have a look at other AKC breeders, they all do at least hip and eye testing. This is the minimum for breeding and should be in any breeders interest to ensure they are breeding sound dogs. Otherwise you are just breeding for the money and not to better the breed.

The mother of my dog had 11 puppies on the first litter when she was 13 months old. She was bred again right after and had another 11 litters. Just because the seller has now deleted all of her old Facebook posts does not mean people have not already seen the amount of puppies she has produced.

This is a fact and pictures of said litters can be sent as everything the seller has posted over the last few year has been saved.

I know of other buyers who have received sick dogs from this seller, some of which have already died. All these buyers have also been blocked from her page.

An official complaint has also already been made and they agreed having seen all my vets statements and results from the Orthopaedic Foundation for Animals based in the USA that I do have a valid claim and will be taking this further. My purchase contract for the first dog clearly stated breeding quality and that the seller would guarantee the puppy to be in good physical and mental condition and that she wants the buyer to be 100% happy or to contact her. This was completed and the buyer has offered nothing to assist with the vet diagnosis.

A small contribution towards the price paid would have resolved all this, however now it is in the hands of the officials.

Response to false accusations.

#7REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, March 28, 2016

The person that has filed this report has made false accusations and is attempting to bully me by slandering my name and reputation. She bought the first puppy when she was just a few days old for a total of $1,000 with full rights. This puppy was a rare solid black dog, which she had been searching for, for quite some time. She requested genetic DNA testing. That testing was completed and she was pleased with the results. She did not request any further testing, and no other testing was done. In our communication regarding the testing, I asked her what if the results came back unfavorable, and she said, that “she had made a commitment to buying the dog, no matter what the test results were”. She also asked me to reduce the price, since she was taking a risk on buying an untested dog. The price was reduced from $1,200 to $1,000. She has had this dog for over a year now, and just now had her eyes checked, and claims the dog has cataracts. She has not provided me copies of the vet report. And there is no way to determine that something didn’t happen to the dog, since she has had her.

Our contract didn’t guarantee anything on eyes or hips. The next two dogs she bought from me, she bought as adults. Both of these girls were blue eyed black tris. These dogs were not even listed for sale at the time of her request. She contacted me asking if I would sell them to her. She offered to buy them both for a total of $3,000, if I would pay for the paperwork and certificates for export and we agreed. She then asked for them to be genetic DNA tested, they were and she was happy with the results. She asked if their bite/teeth and hocks were good. I took them to my vet and my vet said they were good. That is the only thing that was requested. I sent her video of the dogs playing and running, she was pleased with them and bought them. There was no contract on these dogs, only a bill of sale. There were no guarantees of any sort on these dogs. She now says that one of those dogs has bad hips and is in terrible pain. When she left here in December of 2015, she showed no signs of having hip issues here, nor did she show signs of pain. She has not provided the vet documentation to show the results on her hips to me either. I do not test hips or eyes on my dogs. If someone requests the test, we can have it done.

There are no laws, regulations or rules that any tests have to be done on dogs here in the USA. The buyer has not provided any of the test results from the dogs she claims to have issues with. The Buyer has only sent Facebook messages to me, no emails and I did respond to the Facebook messages. The messages from the buyer contained threats of slander if I did not pay her said amount of money. I did unfriend her and ban her from my Facebook page, because of the threats she made to me. She initially demanded that I refund her $8,000 by a certain date or she would or she would slander my name, a few weeks later she changed the demanded I pay her to $1,500. The approximately $8,000.00 the buyer spent, half of that money was for shipping and transport charges She paid a total of $4,000.00 for 3 dogs. The buyer lives on the Surrey/Hampshire border in the south of England, she has never been to our farm and has no way of knowing anything about how we run things. Her accusations are false and are not true statements. I am not a puppy mill, and I welcome anyone to come visit my farm and see my dogs. I do not breed underage females, I do not over use my males, and I’m not sure what she means by disposing of them when I’m done breeding. Even if a female goes into heat, she must be in good sound condition before she is bred.

When I retire a breeding animal, I adopt them out to a loving home and have them spayed or neutered. Even homes that I adopt a dog out too must meet my criteria for care and the dog must be a match for the environment. I’m not sure what female she is referring to about having 22 puppies at 24 months of age. My females do not have litter after litter, and puppies are not mixed in with other litters. I have a climate controlled whelping building. I have separate pens for whelping if I have more than one dog pregnant at a time. Again, this woman is in England, and has no knowledge of my operation here in the USA whatsoever. There are no basic health tests required for this breed in the USA. There is recommended genetic DNA testing for this breed which the buyer asked for, received and approved of the results, but this test is only a recommendation, not even required in the USA. What we have learned is that the rules in England are different. The prices are as much as three times the prices in the USA. So this buyer thought she was basically getting the dog for nothing compared to the UK market. She did not do her research up front and now she is trying to blackmail me into giving her money back. No dogs have died at my farm.

Our vet has had to euthanize two of our dogs. One of them fought a battle with a tick borne disease and after extensive treatment from our veterinarian was unable to recover. The second was seen by my veterinarian and she forwarded us to the OSU veterinary hospital in Stillwater, Oklahoma. This dog rec’d extensive treatment for a reaction to a flea and tick medicine. It was not easily diagnosed and over $3,000 was spent in the pursuit of a cure. These dogs had extensive tests and treatments done on them, before the decision had to be made of euthanizing them. I have a vet that is on-call for me 24/7, makes regular visits to my farm, and who I make regular visits to their office. I have documentation backing up all of my dogs, health records, vet visits and breeding records.

I also have documentation of contracts and communication with this person. I have consulted my attorney and we are working on how we wish to proceed with this matter. This is a case of buyer’s remorse. She claims that I am not a responsible breeder; however she is not a responsible buyer. She wanted dogs for a cheap price and did not request any of these tests prior to shipping these dogs overseas. If anyone wishes to ask me any questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact me privately. I will not fight this out over social media. My attorney advised me to respond to this false rip off report, so that my side could be heard. I have many customers that would be happy share their experiences with me, and I have over 30 customer reviews that you can read on my website. Please do your research, before making a judgement. Thank you and God Bless.
