I hired A1A movers for a move from Miami to Stuart, FL on 7/5/21. Based on a binding estimate of $3942 I signed a contract and paid a $500 deposit by credit card. When movers arrived to pack on 7/27, they did not provide the wardrobe boxes per contract and dumped all my clothes into tall boxes on hangers, resulting in exhorbitant dry cleaners' costs. Movers also advised that I was over the estimate of cubic feet needed and my additional cost was $650, though I had added nothing to the invetory list.

On 7/31, movers arrived in Stuart and would not unload/deliver until I paid them with a money order. I paid $3600 in money orders. After delivering about 10% of my items the building elevator broke and movers left with my items and my payment. I heard nothing for four days and repeated attempts to reach A1A led to unanswered messages, being placed on hold endlessly, or simply full voicemail boxes. No one contacted me until 8/3.

On /3 I was advised that I was at fault for delaying the movers and that redelivery costs would be communicated. On 8/5 I was advised that redelivery would cost an additional $750 and that delivery would be confirmed for the following weekend, probably for 8/7. I cancelled client appointments for 8/7 resulting in lost income.

On 8/6 I was advised by phone by Steve Goldburg that re-delivery could not occur until 8/8 or 8/9. On 8/8 re-delivery was confirmed for 8/9. The movers arrived on 8/9 and demanded payment prior to unloading and delivering my items. I showed them the money order for $750. They threatened leaving without unloading until I gave them the money order. I gave it to them.

Once everything was delivered, I noted various furniture pieces damaged, and a large coffee table missing. I asked movers to reassemble my furniture per contract but they returned to the truck from my apartment and left. I advised an employee at the company who said they were returning (they did not) and who provided an email to which she asked that I send a report with photos of damaged items. I did so. I heard nothing for two days.

On 8/11 I called and reached Steve Goldburg, who said they were trying to locate the table. I advised that the movers had left without reassembling, and that I had sent an email with images of the damages. He then found this email. I asked for an official claims process and he provided a different email. I submitted a claim with details and photos on 8/11. He said "I'll take care of everything."

On 8/13 I emailed a photo of the missing table. To this date, 8/15, I have had no response or communication from the company regarding my claim of 8/11 or my missing table.
