I  called Credit One bank 3 seperate times in January and february to cancel my VISA account. In March , I paid the balance in full and asked again the account be canceled. Not only was this account NOT canceled , they opened up a second account in my name and are charging fee's on both accounts!

I try to call and i'm transfered to 3 or 4 diiferent people before the "signal is lost" and i'm hung up on.

I have also filed complaints with the Credit bureau's , the BBB , and Consumer affairs.

If you paid in full there would not be a payment due unless another charge came in. Do you have anything set for automatic payment on this card??? That includes any payments for card services. You may now be being charged a late fee, but if indeed you did pay in full in March there should be no further fees being accessed. Look at your statements and see what's being charged to your card.

I requested the card canceled AFTER it was paid in full showing a zero balance in March.

I was sent to 4 seperate people on the phone to close the account and after 48 minutes I was hung up on. The same exact scenario happend twice more. A month later they called me to tell me my payment was past due. I cut the card up in January and did not use it. The "balance" is fee's charged after I closed the account.

A credit account can not be closed when you still owe money on it. So your requests in January and Febuary were not valid and were not acted on. In March after the payment the account could be closed. However do you have any payments coming out automatically on your card. If so they would need to be stopped and then pay off the balance before the card could be closed. What charges are being accessed on the first card?

For the second card, if you didn't do this you might be the victim of identity theft. Meaning someone used your info to get a card in your name for them to use. I'd suggest getting a credit report to check this and for any other open accounts that may not be yours. Then contact the card company and report the new card as fraud.
