Derek Ortiz is the head of this construction rip off operation, Andy Anaya (312) 414-5172 is his partner, he says (at least as of Nov 2021). Andy does not do any actual work, seems to be there just to drive Derek around and cash checks. Andy does sometimes act like he’s supervising, and does drop off some material. In Nov 2021 Derek also had another driver who also cashes checks for him named Aleksandar, this guy seems to have no hand in the business otherwise and may not even be fully aware Derek and Andy are going around stealing people’s money, because they sometimes do some actual work. Derek made a contract on a blank proposal form with description and amount, and signed it. I gave him 50% of the labor up front, he did show up for one day of demo, in which they did not even complete half of it. Then on the 2nd day he did not show up and refused to answer the phone or call back. I was personally told by another home owner in the neighborhood that Derek and Andy also started a job and then left and didn't return to rip them off for a few thousand dollars.
