I began my tenancy at Holt's Lazyland Mobile Home & RV Community in June 2024. My only contact up to and including my bringing my 30-foot mobile home onsite was Julie. Julie works at the front desk and is the mother-in-law of Jason. Jason is the newest Holt to take the reigns from his father Ron. Julie told me that Hiolt's Lazyland has been here longer than the town (and boy do they act with that level of entititlement). As I went through the process with Julie, she told me what lots were available and I drove through. Not expecting any favoritism, I did suggest my favorite lots for me to rent after I drove through the community. On the day of my moving, I did not get assigned any of the lots that I liked and didn’t think much of it after settling in. I’d like to share a few of my experiences during my short six months.
A few months into my tenancy, I was sitting at my desk and all of a sudden there was a green laser site (rifle) on my chest. I hit the floor and crawled to get to a safer location away from the windows and arm myself and call police. After a good portion of time had passed, I opened my entry door and went outside. I went to my next-door neighbor and asked him if he experienced any of this. He told me that he hadn’t. I went back inside and remained vigilant, ruining my entire Friday night and of course, no sleep. Long story short, it was my neighbor that I asked. Instead of telling me that he did it, he lied. There was another guy who was threatening me with bodily harm because I didn’t find the joke funny. They are also the neighbors that tried to get me to “not like” another neighbor. This drama was ridiculous.
The place is overrun with cats. I like cats, they also keep rats away. I have a cat that they charge me $10 a month to keep INSIDE my rig, while the other 195 of the feral cats outside urinate under my rig and car. My car reeks of cat urine. One day my cat ran out to be with the herd of cats. I couldn’t catch him until the next morning. Yup, he then had fleas. Ironically, these two cancerous neighbors on my street, told me the office was poisoning the cats to get me riled up. That was later denied by Jason when I asked him. It was at that time that I asked Jason if I could be moved away from these two cancerous neighbors. The guy’s wife drives past (with a suspended license) my RV every morning and holds up her middle finger out her window at my rig. Real class acts in here! There’s usually a stream of comers and goers here. I thought under the circumstances that I could be moved to a different location within the 150 lot within the community and feel a little safer. Jason wouldn’t move me. I have found Holt's Lazyland Mobile Home & RV Community doesn’t really care about anything other than emptying quarters out of washers and dryers.
Another oddity I found was that in reading the community guidelines, there simply isn’t reality to much of it. Refrigerators, washers and dryers outside, everywhere. These items are dangerous to children. I think there’s even an ordinance. While the regulations state that background checks are done, they aren’t. And that’s from the mouth of Julie. One of the cancerous neighbors was arrested for beating on a convenience store clerk for eating his dinner and not waiting on him immediately. This neighbor of mine allegedly threw the whole plate of food on the clerk before pulling him over the counter and beating him. Yup, that’s my neighbor.
If you criminals are looking for a place to live, look no further. At some point it can be changed into a jail by closing the gate and putting on a lock. Maybe they’ll get taxpayer funding to resolve the cat urine smell, throughout.
As I drove out today, lock, stock and barrel (Wednesday, November 6, 2024), I saw the owner taking down his Kamala Harris for president signs.
