Koons Ford Koons Krystal Ford This was an outright advertising scam that they call a Wow deal. They said I could upgrade my 2017 Ford Escape to a 2019 Ford Explorer with no out of pocket costs. The add said I would pay at or below what I was paying for the old Ford.

I was astounded when I got tbe monthly statement which was way over what they said and what I expected. In addition, on a separate yellow sheet they said I would pay a total cost of $16,000 for a 2019. 2020 cars were already out as that one grew old.

I also received 2 safety recalls/violations which I did not know about at the time of the sale. Additionally, I felt the process was very disorienting with a digital reverse screen for looking at the deal. They also gave me a thumbnail drive instead of paper documents when I left the lot.

I asked for a new deal as they breached the deal simply by tbe safety recalls in addition to fake advertising. I tried to pay the whopping monthly and realized as God spoke to me, that I had been jipped. I fell behind and it got my budget all screwed up. I am quite angry that they have not responded to my hand written letter to offer me a new deal and treat me like a real Wow deal.

It has caused me a lot of anguish and pain. I also believe that car was used before in some way as there are very light stains on the passenger seat. To date they still have not called me. United States

How Dumb Is This?

If YOU would have READ the contract BEFORE you agreed to the terms, YOU wouldn't have been surprised by the figures! What is wrong with you people?

"They said I could upgrade my 2017 Ford Escape to a 2019 Ford Explorer with no out of pocket costs."

You actually believed that? If someone offered you $20 in trade for $15 would you trust that pitch? Would you trust an Afghan camel dealer that offers a young two-hump camel in an even trade for your 40-year-old one hump?

"The add said I would pay at or below what I was paying for the old Ford."

That may be true with respect to the monthly payment amount but certainly you should have realized the payments would extend beyond the maturity date of the current loan.

"I was astounded when I got tbe monthly statement which was way over what they said and what I expected."

Always read a contract prior to signing it. If you are unable to view the screen then demand to view and sign a hard copy.

"I am quite angry that they have not responded to my hand written letter to offer me a new deal and treat me like a real Wow deal."

They are under no obligation to alter the terms of a contract.

"I also believe that car was used before in some way as there are very light stains on the passenger seat."

Of course it’s not a new vehicle. 2019 vehicles came out in 2018 and now it’s almost 2020. What was the odometer reading at the time of the test-drive?

You are suffering from a case of buyer’s remorse. Enjoy your new SUV.

You have the right to get a paper contract before you sign it

There is no reason to trust what the F&I person says in the finance office. To sign a digital contact without actually reading it leads to trouble as you have discovered. In the future, if you can't see the actual contract on the monitor on which you are signing - ask the finance person for a paper version.

If s/he won't give you one - walk out without signing. Keep this rule in mind: Never sign anything without reading it first. If they won't give it to you in a readable format - there is a reason why and that reason is not to your benefit.
