VRBO Homeaway, Expedia Unilateral Booking Cancellation Austin Texas
BUYER BEWARE. I have used VRBO for years. I actually use to recommend them to friends and family. Always had a good experience until recently as owners (and their accomplices at VRBO) take advantage of unsuspecting customers. They are greedy and taking advantage of the pandemic for profit. I booked a year in advance only to have my booking cancelled 40 days out from the booking dates.
This of course is just outside the Book with Confidence Guarantee which apparently is only 30 days. How am I supposed to know that this can happen???? Where is the warning? What ever happened to offer and acceptance. Simply contract law. I am travelling with 2 other families and the prices have increased for the same accommodation 400%.
Of course VRBO's fees go up too because they are % based. I am on about my 20th case number as VRBO's customer service is specifically designed NOT to support is customers, but instead exhaust them into submission. Hours of emails, phone calls, made up titles, FALSE perception of Escalation.
It feels like collusion. It feels like extortion. It feels like price gouging. It feels like exceedingly poor business practice. I will NEVER again book through VRBO. Do yourself a favour and follow my lead.
