WARNING ABOUT 1Click DVD: LG Software Innovations and the hidden company 4120272 Canada Inc are selling the product 1Click DVD. Do not be fooled by fancy websites reporting how great it works, this product is at best a beta version of freeware.

The technical support at [email protected] will return your emails but provide little real technical support help. When you ask for your money back within the 30-day money back period they refuse to get back with you. There is NO telephone number for these people.

This may be a Canadian company that uses people in the US to distribute the software (I am still checking on this). My next step is to give the crack on this post if it is not resolved.

I work for a company named Software Innovations, and we have received phone calls regarding the 1ClickDVD program. This is not our product. We are a different company. The company your are looking for is "LG Software Innovations." There is a Support webpage for 1ClickDVD (http://www.1clickdvdcopy.com/support.asp) but I didn't see a phone number there. You might try the phone number used for the domain registration (listed above). I know that it is frustrating when you purchase a product and need support. But please understand that my company, Software Innovations, has nothing to do with "LG Software Innovations". We are 2 different companies. The only reason we know that "LG Software Innovations" exists is because we get phone calls asking for suppport for their product. We cannot support their product, because we have nothing to do with that company or their product. Sorry. But I hope you find the information useful.

Suggestions on how to resolve this - and how to safely but software online in the future

I know how frustrated you are Lajean. Yet I want to reassure you that you may still resolve this matter. Having worked in e-commerce for several years, I have a couple suggestions which should work. First, upon visiting lgsoftwareinnovations.com I noticed they offer 2 online purchase options; you either used a PayPal option, or you used the SWReg.org option. Look for the original order confirmation email to determine which option you used. If you used PayPal, go to https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_pbp-info-outside#dispute to view information on "Dispute resolution on PayPal purchases". PayPal may or may not help you. If you used SWReg.org, go to https://usd.swreg.org/cgi-bin/msgwizard.cgi and use the online form option "Complaints". Within a couple days one of their customer service reps will contact you to help resolve the matter. If neither of these options work, there is another option, but I strongly urge you to use one of the first 2 options. This third option involves contacting your credit card company and requesting their help in disputing the charges on your credit card. If you do this, it is possible that you will not be able to purchase any product through the PayPal system (or SWReg, if that was the transaction processor) again, so use this only as a last resort. In the future, I highly recommend that before you purchase any software online, first check if an evaluation or demo is available. Usually such demos are limited-time or limited-functionality versions of the software that will help you decide if the product satisfies your needs. When it is time to purchase online, make sure the purchase is processed through a reputable company that you can turn to in case of such conflict. For downloadable software purchases where you do not recognize the company, I recommend going through the purchase process up to the point where they ask you to enter your credit card number then STOP! DO NOT enter your credit card information yet. Do the following first. 1. Confirm the page is secure. a. Look at the URL displayed in your web browser's address bar. It should start with "https:" rather than "http:". b. There will be a locked padlock icon in the status bar at the bottom on your browser window indicating a secure page. If the padlock icon is not there, or is unlocked, the page is not properly secured. Double-clicking on this icon will bring up a box with security infomation, including an option to view the security certificate in use. View the certificate information to make sure the certificate is valid (not expired). 2. Check out the transaction processor. a. The security certificate information will also tell you who the certificate is issued to. In the case of SWReg, it says, "Issued to: "usd.swreg.com". This is almost always the transaction processor (not to be confused with "credit card prcessor"). b. Type the URL of the transaction processor into your browser's address bar (i.e. type in "swreg.org") and click your "go" button to visit their website. c. Browse the site for "support", "help" or "customer service" and look for the customer service contact information. This is often a web form or email address, but there may also be a phone number. d. Now contact the transaction processor's customer service department. Let them know you are considering a purchase of whatever software it is, and ask them what the refund policy is, in case you have problems. If they tell you "no refunds" or if they do not reply within a few days, then find a way to buy the software at a local store or a more reputable website, or find a different piece of software to purchase. I hope this information helps you to rectify your current problem, and to avoid any future problems. I know how one bad vendor can make us wary of buying online again, but there are literally thousands of upstanding software companies selling online, and they will treat you right. Happy Surfing!
