Complaint Review: 2darescue - Apache Jct Arizona

Just want to put in my two cents here - I am familiar with 2daRescue, and it's principal, that is described in the complaint. I am very active in the Phoenix area animal welfare community - volunteering with other rescues and organizations, and the rescue community is one where everyone knows just about everyone.  This rescue is a great organization, does A LOT of amazing rescue work and is very conscientious.  If the complainant has an issue with them, I am certain that there is a misunderstanding in play here, as the operator of this rescue is woman of great integrity.  Getting a dog from a rescue is NOT the same thing as purchasing a purse or a piece of furniture.  They are live, sentient beings, and the fact that the complainant describes her experience in a manner that one would use to describe a purchase of a car, purse or piece of furniture is very telling, and I believe shows a lack of credibility.

P.S. To the complainant - YOU didn't try to "rescue" the dog. That dog was already rescued, by 2daRescue. They are they ones that plucked that pup from whatever dire circumstance he/she was in, gave it shelter, love, and security, and you would have been lucky to "adopt" the pup.  The fact that you feel you can use the term "rescue" shows you have no understanding of what actually goes into rescuing an animal. Picking out a pet and adopting it is NOT RESCUING IT. Someone else has already put their sweat, tears, and money into rescuing that animal.

2DaRescue is a 501c3 non profit all breed dog rescue dedicated to rescuing dogs from not only dog shelters, but the Indian Reservations, the streets of Phoenix, owner abandoned dogs,and yes even Mexico. Many of our dogs and puppies have skin issues, mange and poop, ALOT as we are constantly de-worming and purging parasites from their little bodies. We work long, diffuclt unpaid hours caring for these dogs and pups, and they are all well cared for. We have partnerships with not only Pinal County but Mairicopa County Animal Control as well and have a kennel license.  Any uppy diagnosed with Parvo is taken to the founders home and personally cared for until stable (Founder is a retired ER nurse) 

An inspection immediately after this complaint was filed and we welcomed the Animal Control Officer who was there to insoect our facility and dogs/puppies 20 minutes after the call was received.. Our facility and animals were of course in excellant condition, 

2DaRescue is currently in a temprary location which is in a wharehouse in an industrial park. This is not a nice location as unfortunatley dog shelters are not welcomed in the nicer areas of town. This gives (thankfully only a few) a perception of dirtiness or "unclean" as we are on a dirty, dusty, pothole filled road.  For those who are able to look past this and actually have walked through an overcrowded nasty shelter one will see that our dogs are clean, well cared for and loved. 

This complaint, truely unvalid is a result of a woman who is critical of a facility who has a great reputation (as reflected on our FaceBook Page by the other 99% of the population) simply  because she did not recive a call back from the founder as quickly as she expected  "and cant deal with a dog with allergies" . The dog has a dime size rash and was a rsult of an allergivc reaction due to an allergan in her home, and this person was frustrated. The paid appointment was offered to ease her concerns, not because it was neccessary. 

Anyone who would like to come inosect our facility is absolutely welcome  We do great work and will continue to do so. In fact this founder has purchased (with her own money ) horse property and is currently building a rehabilitation center for our dogs, complete with an inground pool for therapeutic swimming. Dogs ad puppies fostered there will  recieve 24 hour care.
