Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I equipped my entire 2400 sq ft home with 3 Day Blinds high end plantation shutters in 2005.  The company installed all the blinds at the time of installation.

At current time, several of the mechinisms of which keep the blinds at the same level are either warped, or have broken off.

I called the 3 Day Blinds warranty claim number and spoke to Ester.  I explained the situation to her and she was not very helpful at all from the begining of the phone conversation.

She was not able to locate my past purchase info in her database and exclaimed that they only keep customer info for 5 years.  Interesting since they by their own admission offer their Customers a "Life Time Warranty".  I was asked if I had a copy of my original invoice.  Unfortuntely, so far I have not been able to locate the invoice.

Ester claimed that they would not be able to further assist me if I was not able to provide her with an invoice for the original purchase.  Interesting how this company expects their Customers to keep their invoice info forever, but they as a Company only keep Customer info for 5 years.

This Company is oviously very interested in selling blinds, and touting a "Life Time Warranty" but when it comes to actually maintaining and servicing this warranty, well this is where they fall very short.

There is absolutely no benifit of the doubt given the Customer at all.  Basicly, no invoice/receipt, no warranty!

Had I known this Company was this way, I would not have purchased from them as there are several competitors out that that are more interested in servicing their existing Customer base.

Buyer beware when it comes to purchasing from this Company.  Especially if you expect them to service their warranty.

Let me know when you descend out of your perfect world!  Of course what you say is true, but this is not a perfect world and when we purchased this product, we in the middle of chaotic move.  I suspect this receipt will probably show up around here sometime, but who knows when.

In my real world I'm looking for is a company that fully supports their product and works with their Customers.  I spent thousands of dollars with this company and had them install their own product so it would be done right!  All they have to do is show up and they will see its their product and they will see how defective the control arms are!

It was and still is now painfully ovious that this company is not interested in working with their customers to stand behind their product.  We are building a new mountian retreat home and when it comes time to install window coverings we will most certinely not use this company, now will we ever recomend them to others.

Without proof they do not know if youre trying to scam them. This is why you always make a folder or manilla envelope to keep ANY warrenty paperwork in. This way when a situation pops up like the one you are currently dealing with, you have PROOF. To bash them because they couldnt find you is a tad silly. Its a computer, if the information is in there, with some work they should be able to verify your warrenty. But they are not going to go that extra mile if you show your a$$ over the phone. At that point they can just write you off as a PITA and move on. PITA being short for pain in the a$$. Where it is understandable that you would be upset, you also have to hold YOURSELF accountable for not protecting your interests. So keep looking and try and contact the original place of purchase. You might get lucky. But I must warn you about lifetime warrenties.

Most "Lifetime" warrenties are for manufacturing quality and doesnt cover NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. This means that even if you do find the paperwork, if your particular problem IS NOT a manufacturing issue and it is wear and tear, they are going to deny your claim. This is one of the biggest assumptions the american consumer can make. They THINK that a warrenty covers EVERYTHING 100%. Where the truth is that even if it is explained to them in detail, they will STILL make assumptions as to what their warrenty covers. Even if it is in black and white and on paper. The american consumer also has the nice little talent of ONLY seeing what they want. So even though it can be explained and shown to them, they will TWIST the wording in such a way to make themselves out to be a victim. Yet another serious problem the consumer has.

Good Luck in your quest. Next time KEEP YOUR PAPERWORK!!! It will protect you in the future. And just because one person couldnt find your information, its no reason to give up trying. That person you were speaking with may not have tried common spellings of your name. So call back and try again. They have to store thousands of invoices, you only have to store YOURS. So them only keeping reciepts going back 5 years is 2 years more then they have to legally. With a little WORK on your part you can get this situation resolved. Did you pay for it with a debit or credit card?? Proof of payment might be accepted. See if your bank keeps that information.
