Contracted a signed agreement to transport car from NY to West Palm Beach Fl. for $675.00 delivered. This was charged in full on my Master card. When car arrived in Florida received call from their terminal and was told to give the driver $50.00 in cash or else they will not deliver the car.I agreed to get my car and received a receipt for the $50.00 paid to the driver. This was their method to get an additional charge which I did not agree to at the time the car was picked up in NY

This is a rip off that the ICC should know about since they carry a ICC license

Walter, Let me clarify the ICC# thing. It no longer exists, as it is now an MC# and has been for several years. Was this deal done directly with the "carrier" or was it done through a broker? If it was through a broker, you can get your money back easily. Just file a claim against the Broker's bond. Either way, go to the FMCSA website and go to "carrier snapshot" to get the info you need, and to file a complaint while on that site. Every commercial vehicle needs a USDOT#. The MC# is required on any vehicle for hire that crosses state lines. The MC# replaced the ICC# several years ago. ICC no longer exists. Be sure that your contract does not have a clause in it for "incidental" charges. Good luck!
