Dropped off pick-up on Jan 16 to have clutch repaired. First time (three weeks later) it came back, it wasn't working so I took it to another mechanic who told me there was a serious oil leak dripping on the clutch line. But I took it back to Aamco since it was under the 90 day warranty. I told them about what the other mechanic had said, but about two weeks later they called to say that the engine had mysteriously seized and needed to be replaced. I'm sure they didn't bother to check the oil (why else would it seize?) but they insisted that wasn't the problem. They replaced the engine although they didn't make me pay for labor (feeling guilty?). However, the clutch still gave me problems. It only had problems when the temp dropped below a certain mark (so it wasn't consistent) and several times they tried to blow me off, saying the problem was all in my head. FINALLY, about 6 months later, I got them to acknowledge that there was still a problem with the clutch and, as it turned out, they were using the wrong part (they said they just switched brands to get it to work, but they must have had a bad size or something.) The whole thing ended up costing $2100.00. But wait, there's more. About six months later the head gasket burst and had to be replaced ($1000.00) and the air conditioning isn't working ($674.00 now for that). Whose to say if ALL these things are related to the Aamco "repair" but when I called back about the head gasket to see if they would help me out, they just blew me off (shocking.)

These guys have never apologized for anything. Treated me like an idiot, and did poor work. Save yourself. Flee Aamco of Wheaton.

Brian~~~~~~~sounds lke they didn't seal your hydralic curcuit to work the clutch~~~and possibly didn't bleed the system correctly~~~~~~to get the air out of the system so the clutch would "release" properly.~~~~~a guage or oil light should of been on or the engine could of been overeved while it was low~(roadtest)~~~~~~~before the engine swap your air conditioning probably worked~~~~but~~~~when the engine was replaced they opened the refrigerant line to remove the engine~~~(some systems require this~~~some don't~~~~~in your case i'm not sure~~~~~it sounds like they tried to do some kind of repair for you an straiten it out but they just didn't know how~~~~~~~~ THIS IS JUST SLOPPY WORK AND THE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE TO REPAIR PROPERLY.~~~~~~~~i hope you got it fixed somewhere else properly~~~~~~~~~~~~~~some repairs are not that easy but a repair of this type is basic~~~~~a good technician is VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND~~~~THE TRANZMN
