Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I called to cancel my service 10 days after I signed the contract because I'm moving only to be told that there is a $450 cancellation fee that I signed for in the contract. I then received a bill for $1,197.59.

The contract I have has NO PENELTY Clause anywhere!! The front page says (1 of 6) and the back page says (6 of 6).... I have only one page with no $450 cancellation fees or $1197 anywhere!! but it suppose to be 6 pages!!!

This is a scam and these people are thieves... Nobody informed me about any cancellation fees and it is no where in the 2 pages contract that I have.

Phony contract

You signed a three year agreement before the system was installed. In that agreement there was a 3 day notice of cancellation. That gave you 4 days to legally cancel your contract. If you were planning on moving you obviously knew during this period of time. If you were selling your home it takes more than 10 days to set up a closing. If you were renting you usually have to give the landlord a 30 day notice, although there are those that up and move during the night, in which you would have left the landlord hanging. If you bought a car and drove it for 10 days and then took it back to the dealer the contract you signed for the car would not have a return policy therefore you would have to sell the car and pay off the loan. You still owe the money. It sounds like the only phony is you. ADT is the most respected, and largest security company in the world. They didn't get there by ripping people off. You, on the other hand, ripped ADT off by having the security system installed and not paying for the three year agreement. You need to be responsible and pay for what you agreed to and stop being a phony yourself. Paul ADT Authorized Dealer

You signed a 3 year contract before your system was installed. You had a 3 day Notice of Cancellation that came with that contract so you could have cancelled anytime within that 3 days. That leaves you with7 days before you called in to cancel because you were moving. Did you not know you were moving the first 4 days? Did you sell your house? Were you renting? Normally it takes more than 10 days to close on a home if you were selling and if you were renting you normally give a 30 day notice, although there are some people who just up and move overnight, in that case you probably left a lot of people hanging. It surprises me to hear of your accusations when you recieced over $850.00 worth of equipment at time of installation. The people who installed your system from the sales team to the installing team all probally lost money because of your careless inadequate planning. If you bought a car and decided 10 days later you didn't want it and the dealership told you that because of the sales contract on the car you could not just stop making payments would you then call their contract phony? It sounds like the only phony here is you. Be a reasponsible person and pay for the equipment that was installed in your home.
