Surprise surprise,

Another Internet dating report, I realised how I am just another number in the immense volume of people with complaints against this company. It astonishes me how this company remains in trade, clearly the Australian Electronic Transactions Act 1999-2001 isnt enough. Other Countries must form legislation like this to combat the crooks.

My complaint like many is about money and principle.

I look to online dating for social company, I have been a member of about 10 different sites over the years, I have learnt hard lessons along the way and one of the most common cons are fake profiles being used to encourage you to spend the money so you can communicate back.

Its simple tool they use to lubricant your hand to wallet... Especially if you are new to it all and like allot of new comers seeking some kind of justification as to why you should part with your hard earned cash... am I right or right?

I am making the assumption you the reader have a reasonable idea of the online game, but for those not too sure , typically, there are non-paying members with minimum privileges associated to levels of communication and paying members with various amounts of higher priviges according to how much they pay.

The one basic preface across the board with all these sites is that if you pay the site (paid membership) you can contact people. This is the entire foundation of why they expect you to pay.

BUT.... How would you feel (male or female) if you paid this company for the privilege to message someone and you found out that the receiving party was prompted to pay for the privilege of reading your message?

This is exactly my situation right now. I am the unpaid member. What inspiration is that to pay the site when we all know that the majority of unpaid members are females and the majority of communication direction is male paid member to female unpaid member?

So sure we can sit here and reconcile the sites action a thousand ways, but it doesnt make it right on principle and to highlight the direct misleading nature of this issue.

The following is an extract I have copied and pasted from the help/contact section of the Passion site.

"What are "Standard member Popularity Privileges"?

"As a standard member, you have access to many of Passion.com's features, such as our chatrooms and magazine message boards, and you can respond to anyone who sends you a message, but only our premium level members have complete access to member profiles and email functions. Popularity privileges rewards standard members for having an interesting profile. If a certain number of members view your profile within a three day period, you'll automatically be given access to fifty member profiles and email privileges to them as well. These privileges typically take effect the day after the quota is made, and elapse after the fiftieth member profile is accessed."

The above is a direct extract from their site, it clearly indicates they are falsely attempting to charge a standard member to view messages sent to them by the other piad member.

So I submitted a new profile description (the text other members read when looking at your profile) to the effect of how I am being ripped off and telling the site they can go F&CK themselves...

I did this as a flag and complaint, a way of me protesting, after all I don't want to use this company ever again, I know I am just a number and that I personally do not have the resources to chase these clowns down and make them face the law, but it certainly gave me a grin on my face when they approved the profile description and its currently there for anyone that cares to read it.

At least I am able to reply to those trying to send me messages indirectly via this description... just to let them know they are being ripped off, should be interesting to see how long it takes them to catch up with me.

In summary - based on this expereince the www.passion.com site which is a subsiduary to Adult friend Finder, can not be trusted with your money, and as such in my opinion none of the Adult Friend Finder sites should be used. The following link indicates the other sites this corporation administrate, plus also provides links to the  location of all their offices etc.

Hey, for those looking to participate in the whole online thing, don't lose faith I have profiles on other sites which have their moments but for the most part are genunnie.
