Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Manager, Ms. Avis Laurent, informed us: "You have NOTHING to worry about and I will hold your check until payday, everything will be all right." I called her at least two (2) times or more to make sure it was OK and everything was in good standing.

New employee comes in and cashes the check at my BANK, receiving a Cashier's Check for $345, without contacting us first, not knowing about her Manager's decision in this case. The new employee is trying to make me believe and strictly go according to their contract. The contract becomes null and void, after a Manager amends it verbally, in writing, etc. The District Manager, Mr. David Gibbs, could care less about anyone. We also saw hours posted on the DOOR- open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and my spouse missed 6 hours of work time due to going and waiting for them to open. We got there at 10:00 AM, and there was a SIGN on the door, CLOSED, will return at 10:30 AM. No business is supposed to close during the day like this making customers wait.

The Advance America Headquarters in Spartanburg, SC have unlisted phone numbers, therefore, I have filed an online complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division for the State of South Carolina.

I will inform you that Pay Day Loans have been outlawed in several states, and I am doing my best to do what I can to close mine out in the next few months, and make Pay Day Loans illegal in the U.S.A.

I am out $45 (their charge), $60 overdraft fees from the bank, and a $30 charage to Stop Payment on another check. This totals to be $135, and my spouse does not get paid again until next week, and my Social Security comes on Wednesday of next week.

It is time that Pay Day Loans be illegal in America, and according to the State of Georgia, who has outlawed them, the interest is too high, and individuals are getting loans that they have to pay back, opening Pay Day Loans, and they are taking advantage of the poor, needy and the elderly all across the country, esp. here in Louisiana after the storm. Some people still have storm damage.

Hope this helps you with Advance America. YOU CANNOT TRUST THEM, the LEFT hand does NOT know what the RIGHT hand is doing.

Thank you,

Happy Holidays!!

Rita

they are clearly marked all over the place in the office. I tried and tried to tell my former customer that they need to reduce or go cold turkey and just do without advance and not pay a bill. it seems drastic but too many have gone to where the checks was deposited and then they get a overdraft fee. to all who might read this if you are in a bind and cannot pay the bill, I would suggest putting a stop payment on it and making payment arrangement. Some banks charge a lower stop payment or nothing and then you can make arrangements to pay it back. they do not like doing that but it can be done. And dont worry they cannot report this to the check systems, they are not allowed to do so. I hope this helps..
