Air Care Solutions ripped me off and i wish i would have read ALL the complaints from Ripoff Report and the BBB before i called them to clean my air ducts. I found an ad in Mint magazine for air duct cleaning....$89"gold package" included air duct cleaning, air conditioner filter, and dryer vent cleaning. Well, when something is too good to be true, it usually is! Tony and his partner, from Air Care Solutions came to my house, asked to see the AC unit, and told me that i had a severe mold problem. I told them that the central AC was only 3yr old and Tony said it was probably in the ducts from the old ac unit. He then took out his cell phone and took a picture of the "mold" and sent it to a 25yr "mold expert". He proceeded to give me quotes on different plans and told me to postdate a check for $419, and put the $89 on a credit card. He proceeded to hook up his machine in a closed bedroom and suck the contents of my entire ac duct system through just that 1 duct. When I asked about this, he said the machine was so strong that it sucked it all thru the 1 duct. None of the vents were cleaned. He stated that he put sanitizer, fungicidal, and antimicrobial control products into the ac unit and duct work. I also required a "deep" dryer vent cleaning, which was $69 additional. After an hour, before Tony and his partner left, I saw him stencil over my credit card making a perfect copy of my card, including the security code. I called my bank and they said this is an illegal practice and advised me to cancel my card. I then decided to call another AC company to come and give me an estimate, and they said my ac ducts were filthy. They also told me that it takes 4-6hrs to clean each and every air duct AND vent and that I never had any mold! They had heard of this company quoting this to it's customers. I cancelled my credit card and postdated check and reported their services to the BBB, Ripoff Report, and the Attorney General's office so that others can be warned, and hopefully this BOGUS company will be put out of business one day. Thank goodness all i was out was the $89, but i am disabled and that is a lot of money in today's economy. See scam on Dateline NBC on the internet.
