Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I hired this moving company to move me from TX to PA. They gave me a price that was actually higher than a couple of other quotes I had gotten but they had been in business for 15 years (so they claimed).

When they got there they claimed there would be a $175 Shuttle Fee that was never mentioned to me prior to this. The driver said that everyone was charged this fee, the company said that it was only used in situations where a large moving truck could not get onto the premises. Since there was an 18 wheeler driver who lived on the property and kept his truck parked in the back on occassion, I knew the property was accessible by large moving trucks. I also found out that my apartment in PA was upstairs, so I told them that when they came and picked up the furniture. They said it would be a $50 charge for the stairs.

The mover said it would be 3-10 days for delivery. Day 10 rolled around and there was not one phone call, or any sort of notification that the truck was going to be late. When we called about it, they were very rude. They said "Until we have a truck going that way we won't be delivering. We know we won't have a truck for at least another 10 days and can't say beyond that." After many days of arguing, they finally had someone deliver our furniture. They charged us $200 for the stairs - versus the $50 they had originally told us.

When the furniture had arrived, a computer desk, TV cart, entertainment center, and dryer were damaged with the computer desk having been completely destroyed before ever leaving Texas - they told me they weren't even going to ship it on the truck that ended up delivering my furniture because it was totally destroyed. The entertainment center had a hole punched in the side - not just a corner broken off or something like that. 2/3 of the boxes had been crushed, ripped top to bottom on the corners or had holes punched in the sides. One box was hit with such force that it broke a Fry Daddy and dented a metal crock pot crushing the stryofoam packed glass pot inside of it. A VCR that was in one of the boxes had been crushed. One of the boxes was filled with collectable vinyl albums (old Beatles albums and such) was crushed as well (think about how much force it takes to crush a box filled top to bottom with albums stacked to form a solid brick).

If you value your things, I would suggest using any company but this one for moving. I have moved many times in the past because of the type of work I do, and have never had this much damage before.

After reading some of the other complaints I thought I should add this

After reading several other complaints, I thought I should add the following notes: The original estimate was $2100 but they ended up charging me $3000 with the $200 for the stairs in PA - plus an additional $300 for moving insurance from Bakers International (FYI - the insurance does not cover electronics, collectables, antiques or boxes packed by owners - you have to pay someone to pack them for them to be covered - so don't get burned like we did as they don't send you the fine print until AFTER you pay them) When we called them on the phone to find out where our things were and when they would be delivered, we were constantly told that someone would call us back, but no one ever did. We initiated every single phone call with them. At one point we were told our furniture was "in Atlanta" and wouldn't be much longer, but then 2 days later were told that our things had never left Texas.
